"The Four Tests Story"

Original Story Written by: (annonymous)
Summarized & Analyzed by: Bank [13/12/2002]

As the Germans had set a boycott of the Jews of Novozybkov, the Safonov family decided that they had to help. They intruded and hid nine Jews from the tree families. In the fall, they led the Jews into the forest to the partisans for safety, except for one ill woman.

Legal test: According to the German law, it's obviously illegal to hide the Jews, but the Safonov still hid them.

Gut-feeling test: The moral and gut-feeling of the Safonov family tells them to help the Jews. They believe it is right to help mankind.

Front-Page test: The Safonov wouldn't want the things he did to be on the front page during the war as that will be dangerous to both them and the Jews. But the Safonov would still be proud of the decision they had made.

Role-Model test: The actual story doesn't say if the Safonov family had done what their role model would do. But according to my thoughts and ideas, if the Safonov family had a role-model that might be some one that are similar to them so actually the role-model would do the same for honor and right.
