For the first time since the wedding my family (Heather's Dad, Brother, Mom, David, and I) were able to all catch up for dinner. We had a mini-barbeque on a mini-bbq in the backyard, then were chased inside by the flies.  I made a lemon torte cake covered with icing roses, and enjoyed making it (and finishing making all of those roses). David found some beetroot, but it didn't taste 'right.' He probably got some on himself anyway.  We gave Dad his two-month-late birthday gift, a pre-paid phone (he isn't really technology-savvy) which seemed to amuse him with lots of noises.
