Software Engineer

  • Worked on a project for porting UNIX application on HP-UX 11.x to Solaris (2.6/7) and Linux (6.1) Platforms. Various differences among POSIX.1, SVID, BSD and other standards are considered in diversified areas like: signal handling, terminal I/O, process control and information gathering, and portable conditional compilation. Other portability issues like Standard Template Library(STL) and/or other third party libraries was also considered.

  • Currently involved in a project related to ATE. The work involves development and working in enVision++ an operating system and working environment on Sun Solaris. The enVision++ software deals in C++ and both analog and digital testing of Integrated Circuits is done with the help of it. For ATEs enVision library tools like package tool , pattern tool, waveform tool, flow tool etc. along with Cadence properitory tools are used. The work is challanging and makes one feel proud to be associated with it.

Hobbies

Summary of qualifications

1998 - 2000 Indian Institute of Technology New Delhi

Master of Technology ( Computer Tech.)

  • Computer System Software: Design and implementation of an assembler for 80xx microprocessor in C++

  • Special Topics in Computers ( Multimedia): Project done on Image Morphing and Mosaicing.

  • Computer Architecture: Done project on simulation of instruction pipeline for a DLX processor.

  • Computer Graphics: Project for rotation, translation, scaling etc transformations of a Cube.

  • Digital Image Processing: Term project on Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR)

  • Computer Tech. Lab: Done various assignments on Unix system calls, shell programming , assembly language prog., TSRs, Java etc.

  • Software Lab: Socket Programming, Device Drivers, Unix Internals, Java Script, HTML etc.

  • Computer Networks

  • Operating System

  • Major Project: “Mosaic Based Characterisation of Video Sequences” using Levenberg’s Marquardt iterative algorithm, image mosaicing and fuzzy logic.

Details available at: <http://members.xoom.com/pranavs/project>

  • Minor Project: “Generation of Image Mosaics” using Szeliski’s Technique.

1994 – 1998 P.E.S. College of Engineering, Aurangabad

Bachelor of Engineering ( Electronics)

  • Subjects Studied: Computer Programming, Computer Orgranisation, Computer Oriented Numerical Methods, Introduction to Microprocessors, Microprocessors and Peripheral Interfacing, Microprocessor Lab, Digital Signal Processing, Electronic Devices and Digital Circuits, Electronic Devices and Linear Circuits, Electronic Design Technology, Operational Amplifiers and Linear Integrated Circuits, Principles of Communication Engg, Fiber Optics, Microwave and Radar Engg., Electronic Design Laboratory.

  • Final year Project: “Remote Controlled Loads for Fan and Light Switching- using Frequency Modulated (F.M.) Transmitter and Receiver”.

Telecom Exposure: For the above project the work was to design a Frequency modulated ( FM ) transmitter and receiver which could be in sync with the incoming pulses from the Tx. The FM transmitter was designed and driving circuitry was of the digital IC receiving pulses from the transmitter and working with it.

As the incoming pulses from the FM circuit were received the Rx got activated and the driving circuit using JK – MS flip-flop was activated to control the o/p using the relays. This ckt could also work by the used defined set of pulses and the corresponding load gets activated.

Also presented a paper on Cellular Mobile Communications dealing with the methods and the functioning of the cell phone , wrt to its switching frequency and the cell width and the operating frequency ranges and specs.
