Who IS Joe Zong?

In the mails sent out by the Zhongs and forwarded to me, the Zhongs had maintained that the petitiononline petition had not been put up by them and that they were not able to have it taken off.

I will demonstrate that this is yet another lie.

First, the petition has been further signed since October 2002, and the 18th Signatory is Hans Lorenz.

Secondly, the petition mentions a site as being of the New Catholic Order, a geocities.com site. After I had exposed the Zhongs as a bunch of fraudsters the first time, the pages of the site were taken off. But recently, when I checked out the site once again, purely out of curiosity, I found that there were two MS Word documents on the site.

The documents were on Democracy and Politics, and listed Robert Chung as their authors.

After I had exposed the Zhongs for the second time, beginning 13th April 2003, today, 15th April 2003, I noticed that even these pages have been pulled off!

That is evidence enough that the petition was, indeed, put up by the Zhongs!
I have received from Bishop Thom Sebastian a MS Word document authored by Robert Chung that was supposed to show the laity supporting the election of Pius XIV. On the contrary, the doc shows a picture of a Bishop Peter Chang and a Paul Cardinal Shan, S.J., the latter a Taiwanese member of the Antichurch, both clerics!

There is no evidence profferred sthat either supported the election: On the contrary, it is most probable that they not only did not, would not and also are blissfully unaware of this momentuous event that they are supposed to have blessed! The pictures of these two persons are just dragged in to further deceive people.

A google search of Bishop Peter Chang turned up zero results: Therefore the name is probably false or not the form that he usually uses. If there is a Bishop Peter Chang then he most probably would be a 'Patriotic' bishop. Even as a bishop of the Antichurch, he would not have been involved in the Pius XIV affair.

Gordon Bateman sent me a mail sent in by Peter Chung and which had a link to Robert Hess' site, where his page was hosted. I visited the page but it does not exist anymore. I visited Hess' main Papal Claimant site, and saw a notice that some member of the Zhong party had requested the removal of the pages.

However, Hess' site still provided a proper name (yet another) for Pius XIV. Hess lists him as Papal Claimant #15 "Bishop (Thsung) Zhong Huai-de (Joseph). Pius XIV. 1998. Died in 2002. Formosa, Republic of China. See the Pius XIV section. " As I said before, the Pius XIV section bears a notice saying that the Pius XIV pages have been pulled off on request of a party member. That would be Peter Chung/Zhong, I think.

I googled for Zhong Huai-de, and two of Terry Boyle's pages turned up.

CCCP_Bishops_List.html & Chinese_Bishops.html The first Generation of "Patriotic Bishops": That is, the Fifty-One Chinese Bishops consecrated between 1958 & 1963 without the Pontifical Mandate:

*Zong Huai-de (Tsung Huai-te) Joseph .....d. in 1997, Patriotic Bishop of Ji-nan in Shan-dong and Patriotic Bishop of Zhou-cun in Shan-dong
The asterisk means that he had been ordained bishop by the Underground Church in union with Rome, but that he defected to the Chinese National Catholic Church aka the Patriotic Association.

[We must remember that Chinese, and Vietnamese, surnames are usually put before the proper names, according to Chinese custom.]

It is interesting that Hess lists Zong's alternate name as Thsung, while Boyle puts it down as Tsung. I think that the latter is more correct, and that Chung is a variant.

This Zhong Huai-de is the only person who turns up with this name on Google.

It is the most probable that this is the same person about whom Robert Zhong/Chung is making stories.

If this is so, then the following probabilities emerge: Robert Zhong/Chung is possibly related to Joseph Zong, but on the contrary, it may be that he is not, that it is merely that they share a surname (variant forms of the same surname) and that Robert Zhong/Chung merely pulled in Joseph Zong to cover himself up - as an after-thought. We must remember that when this claim was first put forward, there was no Joseph Zhong / Zong in the picture, just a Fr. Robert Zhong, S.J. ... Robert Zhong was metamorphosized into Joseph Zhong/Zong only latter, for obvious purposes!

A second bit of proof is that the candidate was originally a mere Jesuit priest, but in the version provided to Hess, he is a bishop. When I googled that name, not only was Terry Boyle's the only pages that turned up, but also that the Zong/Zhong he lists was a bishop!

In this way does Robert Zhong/Chung's fairy tale evolve!

Obviously, this Joseph Zong had nothing to do with the Pius XIV claim for the simple reason that he was already dead in 1997 even before the postulated conclave and election.

Zong lived in Shantung or Shan-Dong province in East China and in Peking/Beijing (Khanbalik), the federal capital but nowhere near the South (Canton and the tribal dominated province to its west), or in HongKong, Macau or Taiwan (Formosa).

Sad that Robert Zhong/Chung had to dig out the dead body of Bishop Joseph Zhong in Beijing, elect it Pope and then bury it five years latter in Formosa/Taiwan! Sad, very sad.
