Are You Goan? Do You Love Goa?

INTRODUCTION

In my campaign, largely centered on the Internet, to activize Goans on the Goan Question, and to kickstart the Goan Liberation Movement, moribund since 1974, I have encountered several who claim to be Goans, who claim to love Goa and Goans, and who work for Goa and Goans, and who have done things — something or the other — to benefit Goa and Goans. This statement is an investigation — and a challenge! It is time to take stock; to seperate the truth from falsehood.

It needs to be noted that when I say "Goan", I adhere to the definition adopted by the Goan Freedom Movement (1691-1974) which defined a Goan as any citizen of Portuguese India, including those from Dio, Damao, Dadra, Nagar-Aveli, the Island of Anjediva and Goa proper (both Velhas Conquistas & Novas Conquistas). That is, "Goan" is a colloquial form for "Portuguese Indian".

Fourty-three years ago, on December 18 & 19, thousands of Indian troops poured into Goa in an invasion without a formal Declaration of War, without provocation by Goans, and outnumbering Goa's troops by more than 1:10 (4,500 Goan troops against more than 50,000 Indian troops). In the days that followed, India formally enacted two pieces of legislation: The 12th Constitutional Amendment, which pretended to annexe and incorporate Goa into the Indian Union, and an Ordinance that pretended to take away Portuguese nationality and citizenship from Goans and imposed Indian nationality and citizenship instead.

At no time was there even a pretence of a Plebiscite or Referendum to legitimise these naked acts of robbery and of impositions — to sever Goa from being an integral and inseperable part of Greater Portugal, to being a colony and conquest of Indian imperialism.

Goa is a neighbour of the Indian Union, the largest segment of the former British India. As a neighbour, Goa had no obligations to the Indian Union other than that of a Good Neighbour, which she fulfilled to perfection. But, on the contrary, the Indian Union forwarded pretensions after pretensions against Goa, demanding that Portugal should cede Goa to the Indian Union, with or without the consent of Goans, and that Goa belongs by some pretended "natural right" to the Indian Union, which natural right was frustrated by Portugal continuing to hold on to Goa and not surrender it to the Indians. Finally, the Indian Union invaded Goa in two installments: In July-August 1954, it invaded the enclaves of Dadra and of Nagar-Aveli and occupied them, annexing them in July 1961; in December 1961, after months of mobilizations and military provocations failed to provoke the Goans to attack the superior forces of India, it invaded and has occupied Goa since then.

All these acts constituted Bad Neighbourliness, acts that militate against Neighbourliness. Despite all its pretensions, the Indian Union had and has no basis for a pretension over Goa — moral, legal or of any other kind. The Indian Union had no more a right over Goa than Pakistan, Mongolia or Bhutan have a right over Goa!

Since this Rape and Occupation of Goa, then, Goans have been told, by the Indians, and by Goan traitors, that Goa is an integral part of India, and that Goans are "free citizens of a free India." But, logically, if Goa has legitimately become a part of India, as a result of its unjustified acts of aggression, because of its occupation of Goa, then Goa does not become an "integral part of India" but becomes merely a conquest — war-booty. And Goans, therefore, do not thereby become "equal citizens of a free India", but become thereby, by implications of law, the property, chattels and slaves of India.

[In law, when one "purchases" — or "acquires" by main force, such as by kidnapping or otherwise howeverso seizing, a human being, one has not "liberated" him or her:— one has enslaved him or her. Therefore, if India legitimately "acquired" Goa as a result of its criminal actions, then Goans become legally nothing more than India's slaves or chattels — a legal status that militates against any pretensions of having become "equal citizens".]

Now, logically, no self-respecting people would countenance peacefully to be dragooned and bludgeoned into having their homeland incorporated by an unjustified aggressor as part of its territories, and with a claim over their allegiances. Such a concept is foreign to humanity — anywhere in the world. And so, therefore, Goans too are obliged to react to the acts of the Indian Union by militating against this attack upon our dignity as human beings and fighting by all means to vacate this aggression and to restore the lawful Status Quo Ante and to secure comprehensive and proportionate Justice, Peace, Restitution and Reparations from all the wrongdoers.

And therefore, since these events, until the restoration of Goa's liberties, snuffed out by the Indians, the one true and only really legitimate Cause that can animate Goans is this Affront to our dignity as human beings, to our liberties and the liberty of our homeland. Reason demands that this Cause must have priority over all other questions, whether domestic or foreign, and must direct every other question. Therefore, a true and loyal Goan is demonstrated by, and proven by his unequivocal advocacy of Goa and her rights, of Goa's liberation from the Indian Occupation.

A true Goan, a faithful, patriotic Goan, therefore, is one whose heart bleeds for Goa, who recognizes that Goa is enslaved and degraded and who militates for her liberation.

Therefore, it is that only he who recognizes that Goa has been raped by India, a situation that continues until it is reversed, and that Goans have been imposed upon, degraded, humiliated and dishonored, and whose heart bleeds for every moment that this wrong is not undone, who is a true Goan.

Certainly, no moral man will sit at home, and tell others: "Hey, man, chill! Let's have a glass of beer!" while thugs drag out his mother into the marketplace and dishonor her.

And yet this is exactly what is happening to Mother Goa, and this is exactly what certain "illustrious" "sons of Goa" do and tell us to do! Such Eminences gris as Frederico Noronha, who is arguably the "Mahatma Ghandi of Goan Quislings", his accomplices Bosco, Viviana, Marlon, etc., besides others such as Gaspar Almeida, Dr. Jose Colaco, Floriano Lobo, Rene Barretto (who makes it his vocation to organize "Celebrate India's Rape of Goa Day" every year), etc.

Dr. Colaco occupies a peculiar place among traitors: Alone among them he recognizes publicly the Rape of Goa and that India has perpetrated a crime. Nevertheless, he incessantly advocates surrender and collaboration and seeks to instill a psychological terror of fighting for our liberation on the grounds that we may suffer the same fate as Timor.

It matters little what beverage these quislings and seducers unto treason are peddling, whether it be beer or caju feni or coconut feni or whiskey or rum or tea or coffee; their message is the same: "Abandon morality and human dignity, ye that enter here, and celebrate the rape of your mother Goa!"

By this their action, these traitors and collaborators prove themselves to be NOT the sons of Mother Goa, but India's bastards infilterated into Goa to seduce us from the path of right and into wrongdoing, into selling our birthright and our honor for a pot of mess, as did Esau.

There are others who terrorize themselves over the "urgency" of "social improvement", yet others by the "urgency" of improving infrastructure — the building of schools and bridges and so on. Now, social improvement is necessary, but one must keep one's priority correct. Our first priority is to reddem our honor, to avenge ourselves, to secure Peace and Justice and the punishment of wrongdoers. Everything else — Social improvement, improvement of infrastructures, are secondary, and must come only in relation with, and subordinate to, the program of redeeming our dignity as a people, our human rights.

We do not need more or better schools and more or better bridges. We need guns and bombs and anti-aircraft missiles and flak jackets and bulldozers to dig mass graves for the Indians and traitors and collaborators we are going to kill and dispose.

Right now, the building of more and better schools and bridges and roads and other such projects serve to divert attention from the truth of the Rape of Goa, and of our priority in addressing and undoing this evil, of punishing the wrongdoers and of securing Peace and Justice. It deludes Goans into believing that social improvement and infrastructre improvements are the first need of the hour, and divert attention from our actual priorities. It deludes Goans into believing that there is nothing to distinguish Goan from Indian, and to cooperate and collaborate with the Occupation, to treat it as legitimate.

It also strengthens the Occupation since it facilitates (as does the "Konkan Railway") the influx of more and more Indians, attracted by the already superior social and cultural assets of Goa, and it consolidates the Occupation.

There are others who urge that Goa should embrace the culture of "tourism" — of voyeurism and prurience — imposed upon us by the Enemy, who have reduced us not only to it's chattels, but also further abuse our humanity by reducing us to museum curios, to be gawked at. Tourism as the primary source of livelihood, is cultural prostitution, meant for a people who have accepted defeat in worldwide competition between peoples to earn their livelihood by their own labors and in dignity, and lies in cheapening oneself, by making museum curios of oneself.

It is telling that, despite all the well-tomtomed grandeur of Pagan India, it is Goa that attracts the bulk of India-bound tourists rather than any part of India. Tourists are attracted to Goa, not because of her natural resources (beaches, etc), for Pagan India has larger and far more magnificient beaches than Goa, but because of the Goan people and their culture, which is a subset of Portuguese culture, of Latin and Roman Culture.

This demonstrates the superiority of our culture to that of Pagan India. Yet, our culture was not developed in order that we prostitute ourselves, but in order to conform to the Judeo-Christian ethic.

People who sell Goa as a "destination" are Gigolos out to prostitute Mother Goa to irreverent aliens who merely wish to gawk at and live off, for a short time, the courtesies and pleasures of Goan culture, but not learn from it or adopt it.

One prominient gigolo was Dr. Juliao Meneses who invited and hosted Dr. Ram-manohara Lohia, the Bihari Neanderthal.

Dr. Lohia, in case Goan memories have forgotten, presumed to lecture and admonish us Goans as to what our responsibilities and duties are!

Another famous pimp was the prostitute Laura, wife of Professor Lucio Rodrigues, and who led the invaders into Goa in December 1961.

True Goans contemn these gigolos and prostitutes. A true Goan is distinguished by his heartburn for Goa, who feels for Mother Goa, and who burns with the urgency to avenge Mother Goa, to redeem her honor, the honor and human dignity of the Goan people. A true Goan is not a bastard, who celebrates "Goa Days" that celebrate the Rape of Mother Goa! A true Goan is one who burns to liberate Goa and to drive the philistine boors and vermin out of Goa and who burns to restore Mother Goa to her pristine glory.

So, my message to you, who claim to be Goan, and to love Goa and Goans, is clear and short: If you do not bleed for Goa, you are not Goan. If you cannot recognize the dishonor done to Goa, and are not motivated to undo it, you are not truly Goan!

If your heart does not bleed for Mother Goa; if you do not acknowledge India' Rape of Goa; if you are not moved to relieve, succour and avenge Mother Goa; if you are not obsessed with overthrowing and bringing to justice the perpetrators — you are not truly Goan!

People forget or delude themselves that they can avoid the eternal war between Good and Evil. But there is no middle ground between God and Satan, and those that lay down their arms in the defence of Good, both surrender to the lying blandishments of Satan and are also rejected by God as traitors and rebels, whom He joins with Satan, the first traitor and rebel.

Our life on earth is a constant, never-ending warfare. We can either war with Satan, in order to secure our salvation, or we can surrender ourselves to him and further his program!
