EIP: What Should Be Our Objectives?

©Prakash J. Mascarenhas, Bombay, India.
In our fight to vacate the criminal occupation of our country, the EIP, we must keep these objectives in mind:
  1. Portugal still bears the EIP moral and legal obligations, and it must aid us in setting up the provisional and transitional set-up. And as in the case of Rhodesia / Zimbabwe, it remains for Portugal to hand over formal Sovereignity to the EIP upon liberation.
  2. The Indian Union must formally admit wrongdoing and compensate the EIP for the same.
  3. The Indian Union must hand over all persons, whether its citizens or those of the EIP, who participated in any way in the criminal acts against the EIP, to the EIP, and also their estates, even of those who are now dead.

We must bear in mind always, that we are not alone in this struggle: While the particular circumstances that appertain to the others varies, it still remains true that they have legitimate moral cause for them. We must therefore join together with these others, such as the Nagas, Eelamites, Moluccans, West Papuans, etc., etc., seeking to move them away from the spirit of balkanisation and towards a constructive spirit, instead, that of building on the ruins of these pseudo-federations of the Indian Union, Burma, Ceylon, Indonesia, etc., a grand new and true federation - a Commonwealth of the East Indies, which can appeal to all the nations of the East Indian family of nations, giving them good reason to accede...
