When I first knew that they
were looking for people to form a new Praise and Power team, my immediate
reaction was to jump at the chance. If you know me well, you basically
know that I go nuts during worship; that it has been the one thing that
keeps me right with God whenever I fall. Worshipping God, though singing
and music, with all my heart, soul and mind, has given me the ability to
draw strength from God. Throughout the years, God has been teaching me
and showing me so many different things just through my worship to him.
With praying, waiting and
more praying, my desire to serve God through this ministry has become stronger.
I knew God had put a desire in my heart that I could not ignore.
Even though I was not confident to sing in front of so many people, (and
I am still not!) I still take on this ministry and follow His lead.
If you ask me the one thing
that I have experienced and learned from through Praise and Power, it would
be when God totally broke me down; scattering me into so many pieces and
then seeing God miraculously glue me back together into something that
I had never ever dreamed of. The realization of how much pride I have in
myself and how it limits what God can do and to recognize how often I’ve
unconsciously believed that I was the one who was at work instead of God,
has been enlightening.
Through Praise and Power,
God has totally broken us down individually and as a team, and it is when
that happens, when we have put ourselves down, that He can paint the most
beautiful picture that we have ever seen.
