I never really thought
of serving on a worship team until I came to Queen’s. Even when the old
Praise and Power team made a call for new members last year I didn’t respond.
However, shortly after, I started thinking about it and for some reason
I felt led towards the direction of Praise and Power. I spent time praying
about it and God granted me a strong feeling of peace, something I’ve never
really felt before and that’s when I knew that Praise and Power was definitely
God’s calling for me. I never felt a conviction that was this strong to
serve in a ministry before. It was such an amazing feeling.
It’s been almost a year
since I first responded to God’s calling for Praise and Power. One thing
that I see as the most vibrant memory of Praise and Power is seeing the
true power of worship and how that power can truly move people and soften
even the hardest of hearts. I have seen that power bring tears to people’s
eyes, bring joy to people’s lives, and excite a feeling of absolute merriment
that inspires dancing and lifting of hands to the Lord all at the same
time. This is what true worship means to me: a time where we can forget
about everything else and only see the Lord in all His glory. It is a time
when we can give back to the Lord in response for the limitless love He
has given us. This is what Praise and Power is to me.
