Let me see, hmmm…Praise and Power…that’s a very large topic in itself! I guess the question is what does it mean for me and why did I join? Well, to start off with, I love music. Simple as that. When the call came out last year that a new team was being formed, I couldn’t resist! My very first thought was “Cool! I want to be a part of this!” I can remember the very first Praise and Power service I went to: October of ’98. When the first song started and I heard the whole sanctuary fill with the voices of 300 people, I asked God right there, “Lord, I want to be a part of this!” It’s Funny how things work out. It shows the power of prayer I guess. Since joining the team, I’ve learned so much, not only in terms of team dynamics, but spiritually as well. A very important aspect I think is ATTITUDE. At first, Praise and Power was, to me, just another music team that I was a part of. I go to practice, play my music, and go home, simple! I know now, how wrong I was in my thinking. When we first met as a group, we were warned by the old team: be prepared to eat, sleep, and breathe Praise and Power. Only recently have I come to realize that yes, you can’t just be showing up to practice and expecting the rest of the team to do everything else. Yup, attitude, the utmost importance. When you’re truly focused on worshipping God, praising Him, and nothing else, amazing things can and will happen. Even now, looking back on past services, I hear myself play lines that I don’t think I’d be able to repeat! I listen to the services and think: “Wow! Did I just play that?” When your attitude is right with God, incredible things can happen. This is probably the biggest thing I’ve learned through Praise and Power so far: having the right attitude. Very important! So, I’ll end by saying this: pray, keep praying and never lose faith! Believe that He can work miracles! Oh, and one more thing, Praise and Power, the first Sunday of every month at Bethel! See you there!
