Jesus, O my God,

Servant of the lost,

Lord of heaven, born as man,

And humbled on the cross.

One of my favorite portions of the Bible is Philippians 2:5-11 that describes the attitude that we all ought to have. These powerful words describe the humility of Christ who, though was in very nature God, humbled Himself to the point of death on the cross. As a result of this act of humility, one day every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Indeed, what Christ did for us generates the central reason why we ought to worship Him.

I have always wanted to write a praise song that captured that dynamic truth calling on Christians to worship Christ who died for us. Therefore, this is the theme of this praise song that cries out in response to Jesus’ love to proclaim everlasting adoration of "My One and Only God."

After that exciting exclamation of praise the text switches over to Ephesians 1:3-10 that praises God who chose us from the foundation of the world and predestined believers to be His sons, forgiven by His blood. What a marvelous truth that is! Certainly that is ample cause for eternal rejoicing!
