Teach me the way
you play your instrument
and move and sway
and concentrate intent.

I listen with intensity
and see you with delight
and hear your virtuosity
bursting forth in line of sight.

Yet, subtle is the word
and tender is the touch
as if alighting as a bird
on finger held out such.

I know I cannot play
in any way like yours
the dexterity, the day,
the form of you assures.

But teach me, if you will
in any way you might,
that somehow I can fill,
a corner near your sight...
