| Life without video games, imagine that..... ....................................................... The Cottonwood stands alone, marking lane midway reaching high, arms up, leafless fingers pointing sillouetted black against night's indigo sky stars peeking out subtle, behind soft curtains, were it any other night, would be crisp and stark icy diamonds studding winter night's cold shell. Ballet performance plays opera on vast stage, Great Orion stalking silent Ursa bear while Cassiopeia sits watching from her chair silently applauding each movement sweeping round, courtiers and rabble audience following her sound. Once again the Big Bear dips around avoiding silent arrow, and Orion swings up again, high overhead to hunt again tomorrow night. These performances are free and seating is not tight even mortals down below can get in without a fight but wallowing we hide with video delight and let the tickets fall unused and out of sight. And find no children with a seat nor parent's hand, nor children with the time to see reality at work, when games give their siren chime with color, story, speed and adrenalin sublime. There was a time when stars filled our heart with wonder, in our time now, with blue lights blinking special, we have styles in K-Mart, filling our cart with wander. ======================================== by Daniel A.
