Sheryn Johnson is a Saskatoon painter who depicts in water color her appreciation of the beauty of Saskatchewan.
Working from her own photos, she likes to paint florals, prairie scenes, northern forest scenes , old buildings, anything that catches her fancy.
There are so many inspiring scenes in our province, for an artist to paint. Sheryn grew up in Eastend, in the Cypress Hills area of Saskatchewan, which one might say is the loveliest part of our province, with its rolling hills, and deep coulees. She lived in Moose Jaw for several years and makes her home now in Saskatoon, a beautiful city on the banks of the Saskatchewan river. Sheryn has taken several art classes in University and Community College. She has also taught painting classes to children and to adults. She has shown her paintings at the Moose Jaw Art Museum, Thunder Creek Gallery and Sask Power Gallery in Moose Jaw, Grand Coteau Gallery in Shaunavon; the Morse Art Gallery; and Delmar Gallery and Centre East Gallery, and the Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon. She will be having a show at Gallery on the Bridges in City Hospital in June and July. Sheryn won an award for Best Water Color at the Saskatoon Exhibition in 2003 and the Best of Show award for Intermediate Division paintings at the 2004 Reflections in Nature Show.
