LORRAINE KHACHATOURIANS

Lorraine Khachatourians is a Saskatoon artist who now paints with the Prairie River Artists and Sage Brushes groups. She enjoys painting all types of subjects, including landscapes and still life, with watercolour and egg tempera. She likes to work both on site and from her own photographs.

Lorraine began painting in 2001, attending a watercolour workshop at Emma Lake Saskatchewan. She had the great opportunity to attend a workshop with Kiff Holland, an internationally know artist, in France during July of 2004. There, she learned more about watercolour and about egg tempera, a method of painting using egg yolk and watercolour pigments.

Lorraine is interested in the idea of chiaroscuro, the effect of light and dark, and continues to explore how this can be depicted in paintings.
