June has been painting in watercolour for several years and her favourite subject is landscape.
She enjoys sketching and painting on site and also does a lot of work at home from her sketches and photographs.
June acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba.
She has won several ribbons at the Saskatoon Exhibition Showcase of Fine Arts and at the Reflections of Nature show.
June enjoys taking occasional art classes and workshops, such as at the Emma Lake campus and at the University of Saskatchewan.
She says: "Art has been and will continue to be a lifelong passion for me."
June started the Prairie River Artists group in 2002 because she works full time and wanted a Saturday group.
The group usually numbers around 16. It is a diverse group whose members work in a variety of media and subject matter.
As well as having an annual show and sale, they also display their work at other venues, such as the Off Broadway Dinner Theatre and Circle Park Galleries.
