New Business:
- January 2009 meeting will be held Saturday January 3 at our regular time. The library is not available on January 10th.
- Elections: Robyn created a poll on Yahoo! to vote for our officers. If you have not done so, please sign in to Yahoogroups, click on Polls, and vote for each office.
- Christmas party: Our Christmas luncheon will be held Saturday December 13 at 11 AM at Kennedy’s. We will continue with our book exchange. The chapter will contribute $5/member toward lunch. Lynn is accepting nominations for our chapter awards – submit what you’ve done for the chapter this year, or what you think someone else has done for the chapter, for our Service Award. The A for Effort award is to acknowledge work that is building your writing career. Have you submitted something? Let Lynn know.
- Dues for 2009: It was proposed that we increase our chapter dues to $25 for 2009. Dues have been $20/year since the chapter began. The increase will help to cover newsletter copying and postage, chapter awards, the retreat, and our Christmas luncheon.
- Retreat: We have tentatively set March 14 (our regular meeting date) for our 2009 Chapter Retreat. Discussion to follow in January.
- 20th Anniversary: Tentatively set our luncheon for Saturday August 22, 2009. Discussed inviting founding members Julie Kistler and Barb Morgan to join us for lunch and cake to celebrate.
- Fundraiser: Lynn raised the question of holding a fundraiser for the chapter. HiDee raised questions of legality to do that as an RWA chapter. Discussion tabled for now.
- Survey results: Lynn shared results of the chapter survey, which overall were positive. She will post the file to the loop for everyone to read. Discussing the results, we came up with several additional comments and/or suggestions, which we agreed to discuss further at the January meeting.
- Critiquing: Lynn brought pages.
