Members present: Robyn Bielawski, Lynn Crandall, HiDee Ekstrom, Rebecca Wright 

Flyers, bookmarks and a copy of Romance Sells were shared. 

Old Business:

• Website:  Robyn checking to make sure Prairie Hearts is found in web searches, as it was brought to our attention that we did not come up in a search of writers groups in Champaign-Urbana.
• Newsletter:  HiDee handed out the July/August/September issue.  Robyn’s email needs updated in the Officer list; it was agreed that addresses in this list should be replaced with email addresses.  HiDee brought up that the newsletter is currently printed in black and white, but her original often features color graphics.  Would members be interested in having color copies?  She will check prices for us to compare next meeting.  It was suggested that .pdf copies of newsletters be uploaded to yahoogroups; HiDee can do this.  Rebecca wrote an article for the next issue, and Robyn is also due for an article.
• Market Research:  Lynn D. was absent.
• Graphics update:  Is our logo ready?  Robyn and HiDee thought there were some questions before we are ready to use it.  HiDee is going to check past emails to confirm.

New Business:

• Prairie Hearts survey:  Lynn C. suggested a survey of members in regards to satisfaction with our chapter and programs, and other things.  Discussion followed.  Lynn will send out the survey when ready.
• Elections:  Nancy P. requested that she not be considered for office at this time.  Robyn volunteered for VP-Secretary. HiDee volunteered to continue as VP-Communications/Treasurer.  Lynn would like someone else to step into the role of President, but will continue if no one else is interested.  Discussion to follow on the loop.
• Just Desserts:  Members would like the contest to continue, but would also like to establish guidelines for the contest.  We would like to have scores and comments returned to the author of each entry. 
• There were no pages for critiquing.
• Copyright:  Discussion of copyright issues.  Rebecca will email the loop a link for a website she uses.
• POV: Discussion of POV in romance.
