Emma Jean Stephenson-Dusold
In 1958 I exhibited my first wonderful "pet" dachshund Shultzie to a very prominent Judge of the day John Amann. He told me he would have paid someone $5.00 to drown the dog when she was born !!!
That was my introduction to the " wonderful world of dog shows ".  Some terrific people, Dave and Dot Mullen, quickly ushered this young tearful woman into their dachshund world and the rest is history. They introduced me to Gracie Hill, the guru of miniature dachshunds and I was on my way. I have never stopped learning. It was also my training to always help new people in this breed. In the ensuing years I have bred, shown, and finished miniature dachshunds in all three coats. Also have bred, shown and finished standard longhairs. I enjoy field trials and had the first miniature field trial champion in the USA.
I also have a couple of dual champions as well.  My most noted miniature wirehair is Am.Can.Int.Ch.EJ's Top Gun  one of the top producing dachshunds in the world with 121 champion kids.  "Gunner" has given us many tremendous wins including  Best of Variety at the DCA Nationals and Westminister.
I will be celebrating  three years of married life with Don Dusold after being widowed for many years. I have 3 sons and 2 grandchildren plus many step-grandchildren. Life is never dull as 3 grandchildren live with us.
After retiring as a Director of the United Way in my area I have become totally involved in the dog world.
Presently I am the President of the National Miniature Dachshund Club and serving on the Board of Directors for the Dachshund Club of America. I also am the President of the Western Penna.Dachshund Club and the President of the Columbiana Kennel Club.
I never would of have dreamed when I left the ring in tears what a wonderful world I was about to enter.
The friends I have made and the memories I have are truly golden. May you all share in it with our wonderful dachshunds.
