Carly slowly started to stir from her restful sleep, her hand snuggly resting upon her stomach. Still half asleep she smiled remembering the new life inside her. She and Jason were gonna have a baby. She slowly opened one eye seeing that she was still safely snuggled in Jason's arms she drifted back asleep. After awhile her body suddenly tensed. In her dreams she found herself standing inside a small dark space. She felt trapped and scarred. Her breathing and heart rate accelerated as an immense feeling of panic overtook her.
Jason woke immediately feeling Carly struggling against him. He watched her for a moment, as panic seemed to over take her. Shaking her gently he tried to wake her.
J: Carly, wake up. Carly its okay, baby.
He couldn't seem to pull her out of her dream. Her body started to tremble out of control and then she saw him. Sitting in the corner of the dark space- LUCKY. As quickly as his image popped into her head it disappeared just as quickly. She woke with a startle screaming.
C: LUCKY!
Jason sat up next to her as she tried to catch her breath, tears rolling down her face.
J: Carly what is it? Are you okay?
She jumped out of bed scrambling for something to wear. She found Jason's boxers and t-shirt and threw them on. Once standing the fear took over her body again and she fell to her knees. C: God Lucky what's wrong?
Jason had gotten out of bed and slipped his jeans on making his way over to her.
J: Carly-talk to me. What's wrong?
She looked blankly at him. She tried to hear him, but it was like he was so far away and she couldn't understand him. The only thing she could do is concentrate on the panic that was sweeping threw her body and image of Lucky in a dark room alone. Without a word she got up almost robotically and made her way into Jason's kitchen.
He followed behind her, watching her as she began opening his cupboards looking for something.
J: Carly what are you doing?
She managed to get out the word "Salt". He walked over to her and opened a drawer handing her a bottle of salt. She looked at him blankly taking the salt from him. She was in a trance like state as she made her way into the middle of his living room. She began pouring the salt all around her as she turned in a circle. When she finished, she sat down in the middle of the circle.
Jason watched on in curiosity -wondering what the hell she was doing and what was going on.
C: In this day and in this hour, I call upon the Ancient Power. O Goddess Bride and Consort Bright, I ask thee now to bring your Light! (she begins to picture herself surrounded in white light as she continues) I have a need that must be met. I ask thee Athena, warrior goddess and protectress, that I obtain your help in protecting my cousin Lucky Spencer in his time of need. I ask the Universe to lend the power of all the correct astrological correspondences, so they may enter this circle now, to aid in his protection and keep him safe.
A sudden surge of energy runs threw her body and she looses her breath. A breeze rushes threw the room and hits Jason right in the face. As soon as it came it disappeared.
C: I now proclaim this spell is done and that my will be done. In no way will this spell reverse, or place upon me any curse! As I will so mote it be! Thank you Athena for your protection and blessings. She stands and walks counterclockwise around her circle, "This circle is open, but never broken."
She turns finding herself facing Jason. He is looking at her with a look of sheer confusion.
C: I've got to get ahold of Luke.
Jason walks over reaching the phone before she does holding it away from her.
J: Carly what the hell is going on?
C: Jason, please its Lucky something is wrong I need to call Luke. Please Jase!
He steps aside and hands her the phone.
C: Uncle Luke. Where is he?
L: I just got a call he is in jail.
C: You have got to get him out of there; he can't stand to be in such a small space. He is freaking out.
L: I know darlin. I'm on my way over there right now.
C: Why the hell was he arrested?
L: I don't know yet. Are you coming home?
C: I'm on my way. I will leave my cell on. Call me the minute you know anything. Tell him to be strong and that I love him.
L: Don't worry darlin he is a Spencer.
C: Okay- see you soon.
She hangs up and takes a deep breath as she looks up at Jason. His eyes were searching for answers, and she knew this wasn't going to be easy.
C: Jase, it's Lucky. He is in trouble. He was arrested.
J: But you seemed to know that something was wrong before you even called Luke didn't you? And care to explain to me what that (he points to the circle still on his living room floor) was about?
She reaches up and touches his face gently, trying to reassure him. She takes his other hand and leads him over to the couch and sits him down.
C: I need you to listen to me with your heart open okay?
He nods.
C: I had a dream, a premonition if you will that something was wrong with Lucky. I was right unfortunately- he is sitting in jail right now and I know he's freaking out. He hates small spaces. I think you know a little about that don't you?
J: I still don't understand Carly.
C: Jase, let me ask you something. Have you ever felt me with you? I mean within the last week or so. Have you had any dreams or visions of me?
J: This is weird Carly.
C: I know, but think about it Jason please.
J: I always dream about you Carly but-
(He thinks back to the other night when he had that intense experience. He had actually felt, smelled and heard Carly that night).
C: But what Jase? Was it the other night?
J: I had fallen asleep the other night and I had a dream that was unlike any other. I could have sworn I felt you all around me, I even smelled your vanilla perfume. Then I know I heard your voice.
C: I was telling you not to give up on me and that I still loved you.
Jason looked at her in disbelief.
C: You had fallen asleep downstairs on the couch in your office. Your heart was breaking that night, and you were crying as you held a picture of our family. I felt every ounce of your pain that night Jason. (she reached up and tenderly touched his face). I'm so sorry you had to carry around that much pain.
J: But how did you know that?
C: I was there, well not my physical self.
J: How then?
C: Well you have heard of meditation right?
J: Yeah.
C: I was meditating and focusing on you and how much I loved you. When I meditate if I am connected spiritually with another person I can reach that person, usually in their dreams. (she searches his eyes for understanding, seeing that he was still confused she continued) When I meditate I leave behind my physical self and go into my astral body. It's called astral projection and it allows me to travel in a meditative state.
J: So you were really in my dreams that night?
C: Yeah I was. I needed you to know that I still loved you and I didn't want you to give up on me or our love.
J: So what did you just do over there with the whole circle salt thing?
C: I just said a prayer and asked for someone to watch over and protect Lucky.
J: Oh, but why the circle?
C: Cause the circle makes me safe. It's a safety zone for me. When I'm in my circle no harm will come to me.
J: If you're just praying why would any harm come to you?
C: I'm praying for energies from the Universe to aid me in my prayer. When I open myself up and call upon these energies good and bad energies could answer my prayer. So in order to make sure I am safe from the bad energy I stay within my circle.
J: Oh, but I still totally don't understand any of this.
C: Well at least you're not like Lucky who just freaks out (she laughs). Well let's see if I can try to explain it better. You and I are connected Jase. Our love for each other connects us. You felt it last night didn't you? We were one. What we have is beyond physical its spiritual. Our hearts and souls are connected. This connection is well, its MAGIC.
Jason searches her eyes deeply. His head was telling him this was crazy; but in his heart he felt that magic every time he saw her.
J: Well I know that I have never felt this intense of a love with anyone else; and what I feel for you seems so much more than love.
C: When you're connected with someone it allows you to reach that person. I can meditate so to speak and separate my self from my body and connect with you. It just happened to be in your dreams this last time.
J: Wow okay.
C: I know its a lot to take in at once, and I'm sorry I don't want to freak you out, I just thought you needed to know that I have things in my life now that I believe strongly in. Practices that are apart of who I am now.
Jason leaned in and kissed her forehead, then her nose making his way down to her lips. Slowly and tenderly he kissed her mouth. Carly moved closer to him returning his kiss with everything she had in her. Jason felt his heart swell as a rush of energy surged through his entire body. He stopped and looked at her.
J: Wow
C: That's MAGIC Jase. You and I are pure magic.
J: We are definitely something. I love you baby.
C: I love you to Mr. Morgan.
Jason laughed as he pulled her into his arms. J: So my girlfriend has freaky talents?
C: Hey! (she playfully swatted him) I take enough abuse from Lucky. Now I'm gonna have to put up with you picking on me to? I don't think so mister.
J: I'm just kidding. But you know I love to tease you, and I have to make up for lost time here Carly.
C: Yeah, yeah sell it somewhere else buddy (she laughed). I have to get going. I need to get back to Lucky. Are you going to stay behind and close things up here?
J: I'm coming with you. I'm going to be right by your side. I can close things up here later or have someone else take care of it. I need to be with you.
C: Thanks Jase. Can you do me a favor? Can you get a really good lawyer over to the police station for Lucky? We need to get him out as fast as we can, before he looses it in there.
J: Of course you go jump in the shower. I'll take care of everything.
Carly leans in kissing him. "I love you Jase".
J: I love you too, Carly. Everything will be okay.
C: I hope so.
She headed into the bathroom to shower while Jason made some calls. After talking to Benny he learned that Alexis was still their lawyer. He made arrangements with Benny to have Johnny meet he and Carly at the airport. He then started dialing Alexis.
A: Alexis Davis
J: Alexis this is Jason, Jason Morgan.
A: Well speak of the devil. Your sister and I were just talking about you.
J: Emily is there?
A: Yes she is joining me in my practice. She just finished law school and has passed the bar exam.
J: Tell her I will be home later today to see her. Right now I need you to get down to the police department. Lucky Spencer has been arrested. I need you to get him out of there as soon as possible.
A: Okay well what are the charges?
J: Alexis, I'm sorry I don't have any information. Carly just got the call that Lucky was arrested.
A: You're with Carly?
J: She and I will be flying back to Port Charles today. Please Alexis just get him out.
A: Okay Jason, I will take care of it. But when you get back you and I need to talk.
J: That's fine Alexis.
He hung up the phone. "My sister the lawyer. Looks like she made one of her dreams come true."
