Upstairs in the "Tower" (office & entertaining space upstairs with a wall of bullet proof windows that overlook the club).
Gia: Well, you haven't said one word. Are you okay?
Carly: That bastard - who does he think he is, strolling in here like that after all this time. The worst part is Gia, I let him effect me. God it has taken me so long to gain control over my life, and it is so good now. I am so much stronger and independent, I feel like it is slipping away and I don't want to loose that!! What am I gonna do?
Lucky walks in on Carly's last statement. "I'll tell you what WE are gonna do"! "WE are all gonna stick together, we have made a successful life for ourselves and NO-ONE is gonna take that away from any of us." Remember cous, we are Spencer's and we have a reputation to uphold, he says laughing and taking Carly into a big hug. You are not the old Carly, you have grown so much. Look at how far you have come. Caro, you are so strong - god look how you handled those guys tonight - you kicked ass! And well you did learn from the best. So what makes you think that Jason Morgan of all people can take that away from you?
C: Lucky, I know how much I have changed, but god did you see me tonight? He just touched me and I forgot everything, he has always had that effect on me, I just melt.
L: Well that is what you have me and Gia for - we will give you all the strength you need to handle Jason. As a matter of fact I told him that tonight.
C: What did you tell him?
L: Well he was adamant about talking to you, he said that you needed to know the truth about things that had happened, and I told him that IF you even agreed to talk to him that I would be right there with you!
C: You did huh? Thanks Lucky. But I can't handle him right now I just need some time to regroup ya know?
L: Just know that I am here for you okay? It doesn't look like Jason Morgan is gonna leave until he talks to you though.
C: Well he will have to do a little waiting first, and if we do talk it will be on my terms this time. Hey guys thanks so much for being here.
G: Caro we wouldn't be anywhere else, we are family girl! Hey why don't you call it a night and let me and Lucky close up tonight.
C: Ya know I think I will take you up on that, thanks! She gives Gia and Lucky a big hug and says she is gonna head for home.
L: Okay cous, but be careful please. Do you have your gun on you tonight?
C: Always, you taught me well, listen I will be fine, I am gonna go home and beat the shit out of my punching bag and pretend it's Jason, take a long hot bath and turn in for the night. I will talk to you both in the morning.
G: Hey girl, don't forget we have some serious shopping to do tomorrow with our hard earned money from tonight.
C: Oh don't worry, I will enjoy spending Jason's money tomorrow!
Carly grabs her black leather coat and slips out the back stairway and starts walking across the street to their house, on the outside it looked like a plain 2 story building, but inside she and Gia had turned an ordinary place into a fantastic home for them. Jason is outside waiting and ducks into an alley when he sees Carly. He follows her at a distance.
Carly enters the building, she remembers when she, Lucky, and Gia came here and found this place - it was perfect and so close to their new club. It had needed a lot of work but with all the money they had won in Vegas, Gia and Carly went all out making it perfect. Lucky and Gia lived on the first floor, while Carly preferred the second floor. She loved her space, she had a huge living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms, a big training room and of course her favorite room was her bathroom. She made sure it had everything she wanted, a huge whirlpool tub, a large 2 person shower and a remote controlled gas log fireplace. She headed for her bedroom and got her work-out clothes on, she really needed to get some of her anger out. She loved working out. Lucky had trained her and Gia. He had given her back control in her life and she knew she could take on any guy. She quickly changed and put her hair into a ponytail. She headed into her training room and over to her sound system. It was definitely time to kick a little ass - she put in her Pink CD and cranked up the volume, it was her favorite and it was just what she needed. Onto the punching bag. She began thinking about Jason and listening to the music, she starting throwing punches and kicks. "How dare he just waltz back into my life like nothing was wrong, and expect me to just melt." She spins and kicks the bag again and again. She is so worked up she doesn't hear Jason pick her lock and enter her apartment.
He hears the music blaring and follows the noise. He stops and watches Carly - god she was amazing, she had changed so much since they had been apart. He couldn't take his eyes off of her - where did she learn to fight like that he wondered. He began to sneak up on her and grabbed her from behind, he needed to talk to her alone.
She was so into her workout she didn't realize what was happening when she felt someone grab her from behind. She automatically went into auto pilot and stomped on his foot causing him to loosen his grip on her. She then grabbed his arm and flipped him over her shoulder throwing him to the ground she put her foot on his chest and grabbed her gun pointing it in his face, she somehow wasn't surprised it was Jason. "What the hell are you doing here Jason?" (keeping her gun pointed at his face.)
J: God Carly, put the gun down! She had a coldness in her eyes that he had never seen before.
C: I don't think so mister, now tell me what the hell you are doing breaking into my apartment and jumping me from behind. I told you to leave me alone! You see I am not the same weak little girl, Jason so don't mess with me.
J: I can see that Carly, now let me up I just want to talk.
C: No I am gonna do the talking. I am asking you to leave me alone. I can't do this right now. She lets him up but keeps the gun pointed at him.
J: Okay, fine but please there is so much I need to tell, you don't know the truth. There are things happened that will change your mind about us.
C: Last time I checked, let's see it was over a year ago I believe, there is NO us!!
J: Carly, I will not leave here and I will keep coming back until we talk.
C: Okay listen, Jase I can't handle all of this right now. I will contact you in a few days and we can talk then, but for now you need to give me my space and leave me alone. You can leave a number on the pad of paper on the table over there on your way out. I will contact you when I am ready to talk. She keeps the gun on him as he throws his hands up and sighs.
He walks over to the table and jots down where he is staying and his number. He stops and turns toward her before leaving " I have missed you so much, and I want you with me, so get used to seeing me around." and with that said he walked out and slammed the door. Once she heard the door close she let out the breath she had been holding in and dropped the gun letting it fall to the floor. Her head was still spinning from what had happened. All she knew was that she was ready for this day to be over with. She suddenly felt exhausted. She turned the CD player off and shut off the lights and went to lock the front door and turn the security system on, she didn't want anymore surprises tonight.
She then headed for the bathroom. All she wanted to do was take a long hot bath and try to forget about this day. She turned the hot water on and added bubble bath and scented oil to the bath, and then started to light some candles. Once the tub was filled she dimmed the lights and got undressed and sunk into the steaming hot water. It felt so good on her tight muscles, she closed her eyes and started thinking. What was Jase talking about "the truth" and what things had happened that would change anything between them. She knew the truth, she saw with her own eyes and she talked to Sonny. She remembers that night:
FLASHBACK:
Luke's was hopping, Carly couldn't wait to get over to Jason's to see him. She had been thinking of him all day and wanted to pick up where they had left off this morning, when Sonny had interrupted them. Sonny had been in and he and Carly chatted, he had been unbelievably nice to her lately, it gave Carly an uneasy feeling. She put her feelings aside as Sonny asked if she and Jason had plans tonight, Carly told him she was headed for the Penthouse as soon as her shift was over. Sonny told her to have fun and left abruptly. Carly was too busy to wonder what was up with Sonny. She and Gia had raked in the tips. Finally it was closing time and Carly and Gia closed up and Gia headed over to see Lucky and Carly grabbed a cab and headed over to see Jason.
Before he left, Sonny had placed a call to Liz and told her to get over to Jason's and set their plan in motion. Little did Carly know what she would be walking into.
Carly got off the elevator and headed for Jason's apartment. Francis was outside the door. Hey Francis, how are you? Good Carly, thanks. Is he in? My shift just started but I think so, go ahead in. Carly opened the door and was shocked to find Liz Webber in only her bra and panties in the middle of Jason's living room calling upstairs to Jason telling him she would be right back up.
C: What the hell is this?
L: Oh, Carly my god. We weren't expecting you this early.
C: Where is Jason?
L: He is in the shower, seems I got him a little sweaty!
C: You bitch!
L: Sorry you had to find out like this. Guess Jason, hadn't gotten a chance to dump you. You know Carly, men like Jason don't actually stay with women like you. They marry girls like me. You were just a distraction for him. Now that you know, Jason and I can get on with our lives together.
Carly lost it and began crying hysterically, and took off running out the door. At that moment Sonny came out of the Penthouse and caught Carly.
S: Carly, what the hell happened?
C: Tell me the truth, how long have Liz and Jason been together?
S: Carly, I am sorry.
C: It's true then?
S: Yeah.
Carly took off running to the elevator, she had to get out of there. Her world was crashing down all around her.
Sonny stood with a big smile on his face. Francis noticed the whole scene and wondered what the hell had just happened and what did his boss have to do with it?
Back inside the Penthouse, Liz quickly got dressed as Jason headed back downstairs. Hey Liz, did I hear someone at the door?
L: Oh, it was just Sonny stopping by to say hi, that's all.
J: Oh okay, well here is that picture of Emily you wanted, sorry it took so long to find, I had to go into the attic for it.
L: Thanks Jason, I better get going.
J: Yeah, I am expecting Carly soon.
Liz exits the penthouse and see's Sonny in the hallway. And immediately heads over to him all smiles, stating that "it worked". They then headed into Sonny's penthouse. Francis was really wondering what was going on - he hadn't realized Liz was in there with Jason. He knew this wasn't good. But he also knew better than to question Sonny.
End of Flashback:
Carly is brought out of her daydream as tears start to fall down her cheek. It had been so long since she had thought about that night. It had taken her months to put that all behind her. She didn't want to go back to that pain again, and she wasn't going to let Jason hurt or use her again. She got out of the tub and dried off. She walked into her bedroom and put on her favorite silk nightgown. She took her hair down and turned on the light to her aquarium. She loved watching her fish, it relaxed her and reminded her of the beach in Florida. Lucky helped her pick out this full wall length aquarium and they had fun choosing the fish. She didn't know what she would she do without Lucky and Gia. They were her family, and she knew they would help her through this. She climbed into bed and just laid there watching the fish swim, and listening to the bubbles, trying to erase the pain and confusion of the day.
Across town:
Jason entered his hotel room. He was realizing this was going to be harder than he thought. He knew what he wanted to do but he also knew he would need help. So he picked up his cell phone and dialed. "Hey it's me. How are things going there? Good have Johnny keep an eye on Sonny and report back to me. I need you to catch the next plane here. I am gonna need your help with Carly, you are the only witness I have to the truth, and Carly needs to hear the truth from someone she trusts. Okay, let me worry about Sonny, I will tell him I need you down here for business. Oh, and Francis have you talked to Johnny yet? Well try to get him on board, we are gonna need him if my plan is going to work. Yeah see you tomorrow. Thanks Francis. I won't forget your loyalty when this is over with."
Jason knew Sonny had to pay for what he did to him and Carly. He had a plan all set. He first needed to get Carly back then he would set his plan in motion. Sonny would not know what hit him.
He tries to shake the thoughts of business out of his mind, he turns on the radio and stares out the window.
He can't believe things have gone so poorly with Carly. He knew it wouldn't be easy, that she felt betrayed by him. But this new Carly, was tougher and colder. He couldn't seem to shake the look she had in her eyes earlier, and how she handled a gun. She was so cold and capable. She had always hated guns and violence, now they seemed second nature to her.
He turned the radio off and headed over to the couch and closed his eyes trying to remember all the fun and good times he and Carly once shared. One thing was for sure he wasn't giving up on her. He would start again fresh tomorrow. Francis would be arriving and hopefully Carly would listen to him.
