Courses - Vishal Prabhu Courses taken in MIT

In my first year of engineering I learnt the basic principles of various fields of engineering such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering. I took two courses of rigorous mathematics in addition to applied science and engineering drawing. The lab work included working in the workshop to complete carpentry, smithy jobs.

The second year included another two courses in mathematics. Electronics, linear circuits, analog circuits and design, discrete mathematics and data structures were the other courses I took. The lab work included designing, building and testing electronic circuits and two labs for computer programming.

The third year covered underlying principles of computer science such as automata and languages, microprocessor systems, and computer organization. I have also studied computer peripherals, control systems and electronic communication. The lab work included programming in assembly language as well as high-level languages and interfacing a microprocessor with peripherals.

In my final year I learnt high-level Computer Science concepts like operating systems, database management systems, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, computer networks, management of information systems and principles of programming languages. I chose to study design and analysis of algorithms and theory of Computation as my elective courses.

During the last year I had to undertake a yearlong project. I implemented the graphical simulation of the various IEEE protocols in a local area network. I also had to deliver a seminar, which consisted of a 30-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute question answer session.
