ALI KHALID ABDULLAHSUBJECT: RECENT EMAIL ADDRESS REGARDING MY MEDICAL CONDITION
I present this address to all of you because it has been brought to my attention, and many of you have read, that the Michigan Department of Corrections have refused to give me treatment for throat cancer. I dearly appreciate your concerns but please note that this was not fully correct, and in fact, an honest mistake. The MDOC had not refused me treatment I had initially stated that I would not accept treatment by the MDOC. I am sorry if there has been a misunderstanding in this regard and hope that you do not blame anyone or hold anyone at fault. Mistakes does happen and we are all vulnerable to make them.
Many of you have sent letters of protest letters to various State Government Officials and MDOC Officials. I appreciate your letters that you've sent but again, your protest against the MDOC for not treating me medically was incorrect. However, I ask that you please DO NOT send any further letters to the MDOC or any state official regarding them not treating me medically. I also ask that you do not send me any money for any "cancer treatment medicine" as some of you have done by sending money to me, which I have returned to you.
I am putting together what I feel would be a more valuable plan of action to enhance the possibility of my parole and will have this issued to you soon. However, please allow me to make a very serious point about sending letters of protest on behalf of a person who is incarcerated.
When you send letters of protest you must always keep in mind that the one you are trying to help is still inside prison and whatever you write in your protest letters will have a grave and damaging affect if you write hostile, angry, aggressive, threatening letters to state/government officials. We should never write such letters to any official in a tone of emotionalism or anger because such letters will, more often than not, hurt the one you are trying to show your support for. Thus, i caution you to never allow any official to know your deep-rooted hatred or dislike for them. We must use tact and pose when we are trying to help and aid a comrad inside a prison setting. In other words, even though you may despise the state/government official, do not let them know you despise them and do no write them showing your hatred.
Many of you have written such letters on my behalf and it has only caused my condition to worsen rather than help. So please, be mindful of this. Not just for me, but any comrad in the world whom you may write on their behalf or in protest. Also, always check with the comrad (if you can) whom you are writing an behalf of, and see if what is written is correct before sending letters of support to officials.
Again, I thank you for your showing of support and will be presenting an OFFICIAL DOCUMENT in which to show your welcomed love and support on my behalf.
In the trenches…
