The Anarchist Black Cross (ABC) Network in the UK has now unfortunately folded. Here, however, are a number of their practical leaflets/pamphlets. These apply largely to the English legal situation, and by and large to the Scottish one too. If any of you out there are amateur legal eagles and have any updates, please email me on [email protected]
No Comment was last updated in 1995 and advises what to do if you are arrested. Despite recent changes to the law and much publicity about the abolition of the Right to Silence the best advice here is still No Comment!
Dealing with Solicitors was originally written by Birmingham ABC in the 90s. Again it is written from an English perspective but the general advice probably holds in most places.
There is also a general guide on Writing to prisoners which I would recommend to anyone interested.
And you can find out a bit more about the ABC in this introduction written by London ABC.
