Tumut RFS Cadet Page
Tumut  RFS Cadets  is part of the NSW Rural Fire Service Cadet Program. They undertake training as part of School Sport every Wednesday and Friday  of the School year. Activities include hose bowling and rolling, extinguisher training, mapping, radio communications, camps and competitions.

In September 2006 the Cadets competed at the RFS State Championships in Barooga and finished third overall in the State.

In 2007 they competed in the Inaugural National Fire Cadet Competition where they came home with a Bronze and a Silver Medal

In 2008 both schools competed at the RFS State Championships and Tumut High Finished 3rd overall. We came back with 8 trophies in total. see story

In 2009 they competed again at the National Fire Cadet Competition and came home with a silver and a bronze as well as the Chaplains award for team spirit.

With a second Cadet Unit Established in 2006 at McAuley Catholic Central School cadets in Tumut has grown to nearly 50.
