Hey all,

Does anyone else agree the new Yes album doesn't sound, well, finished? Did Bruce Fairbairn die _before_ or _after_ the album was mastered?

Some songs like "Lightning Strikes" sound very complete, while others ("Finally") sound like a studio rehearsal that would later be pounded into shape by the veteran producer (and presumably YES-fan) himself.

At least I got the poster with it from towerrecords.com,
Glen (aka Barney Rubble)

PS: Now waiting for Jethro Tull's "J-Tull.com" via mail.

Hmmm.... this is not the case for me. Back in the days that I
was "discovering" GG and KC, I found KC more challenging for the
most part, and I had to listen to their stuff over a few times
before it started to click with me (there are exceptions,
naturally). GG was more accessible from the start generally,
maybe because the pieces were shorter. Of course GG had their
share of hidden treasures!

Even "So Sincere" had a definite appeal for me the first time I
heard it. What knocked me out with GG was how they managed to be
ultra-weird and somehow catchy at the same time.

BTW, I was introduced to GG and KC simultaneously -- well on the
same night, anyway. A friend gave me a cassette with "Power &
the Glory" on one side and "Lark's Tongue in Aspic" on the other,
I had never heard either band! I remember right after I got the
tape I went over to this place where my girlfriend was
babysitting and there was no tape player on the people's stereo.
The first time I ever heard GG and KC was on a Fisher-Price kid's
cassette player!

To me it had the same Billy Sherwood feel as the last one. Kind of silly
sounding. I still say the Trevor stuff was wonderful.

I believe it's now been released in the States. You should be able to
order it.

I remember someone saying once that Gentle Giant just made him feel good,
and that's not what I'd say about King Crimson. Yes, Crimson is a
pleasure, but doesn't quite generate same sense of well-being that Giant
generates.
