When
British company AC was about to give up its car in the early 60's Carrol
Shelby took order of the body and placed his modified Ford 289ci engine
to set these to race. It's racing career turned out successful and Shelby
celebrated by upgrading to a 427ci engine for a punchy straight line accelerator.
These original Cobras sell now for hundreds of thousands of dollars. |

Supebird was a factory modified Road Runner with a 427 Hemi. The aero kit
allowed a higher top speed to blow away the competition on long courses.
