Francis
v Iverson. The question on everybody's lips. No doubt, these
two are the best guards playing in the NBA at the moment. What
i'ma do is analyse both of their ways of playing and then come
up with a conclusion.
Let's start off with the dribbling skills they both posess.
Iverson. The quickest guard probably ever to play
in the NBA. His renowned crossover is known worldwide now. It
has been used so many times on the highest of calibur players,
that we've come to know Iverson for that reason alone. But that's
because his other skills aren't as good as his dribbling skills.
But Francis on the other hand probably has the same dribbling
skills than Iverson, but are rarely used because of his dunking
skills and other skills. We put emphasis on Iverson's dribbling
skills because the rest of his skills aren't too well known,
excepting of-course his fadeaway jumpshot which I will get onto
later. But that is all Iverson has got so his dribbling skills
are what we tend to focus on and then come up with a decision
that he's the best guard in the NBA. But we're forgetting Francis's
dribbling skills as well as his all-round abilities. HIs crossover
is the only crossover that comes close to baeting Iverson's.
His got the more "streetball" "jumpy" crossover
that leaves the defender behind. His "skippy" style
of playing probably overdoes Iverson one-on-one. So Iverson's
dribbling skills are almost identical in skills to that of Francis.

Let's get to the jumpshot. Iverson's accuracy puts him down
towards that of Francis's. Francis has a greater accuracy than
Iverson's, and the way he pulls it off is very quick. But when
it comes to the fade-away jumpshot, that is where Iverson's
alone in his callibur. His almost horizontal fadeaway jumpshot
really does him and his team wonders. Francis doesn't really
have that fadeaway jumper wit him to contend for this part of
it.
But where Francis has no equal in Iverson, is the field and
art of dunking. Iverson's hardly ever dunks, but all Francis
does is dunk, dunk and dunk. His dunking skills kill all the
other guards in the league as well. Iverson doesn't really know
the style of dunking yet, and probably will never try to know
it. He seems content with his current field goal skills instead
of porviding good entertainment while doing it. Francis can
dunk it over Cato (a center in Houston--his own team), but Iverson
doesn't know how to dunk it properly. So this is a field where
Francis no doubt comes out the victor.
The other thing a lot of fans of basketball want now is Entertainment.
Iverson can no doubt entertain with his attitude towards refs
and his crossover. But where's the real basketball entertainment.
Francis can serve us with dunks, plays, alley-oops, cross-overs,
and a lot of other various basketball tricks.
The height factor also leaves Iverson behind against Francis,
but that isn't too much of a valid argument. The physical factors
of Francis overcome that of Iverson's as well.
Overall, in my opinion, and a lot of people will agree and a
lot will disagree, Francis v Iverson will come
out with a result favoring Francis.
FRANCIS WINS.
