Announce:
The Finding of Jesus in the Temple

Jesus was lost for three days. Mary and Joseph searched sorrowfully until they found Him in the temple.  He was sitting among the teachers and asking them questions.

Meditate:

A special joy comes from finding what we thought we have lost.  Sometimes, what we are anxious about turns out for the best. The Joyful Mysteries are about such joys that follow uncertainty, struggle, fear, and sorrow.  God makes our hearts for joy and will not let us lose treasures that really matter.  Our joy comes in seeking, then finding, God.

Jesus taught: "Ask and ye shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you."

Ask:

I ask You, God, that I will receive You, that I will find You, and You will open my heart and fill it with the joy You have in store for me.

Heed Mary's present-day message from Medjugorje:

"Dear children! Also in this peaceless time, I call you to prayer. Little children, pray for peace so that in the world every person would feel love towards peace. Only when the soul finds peace in God, it feels content and love will begin to flow in the world. And in a special way, little children, you are called to live and witness peace – peace in your hearts and families – and, through you, peace will also begin to flow in the world. Thank you for having responded to my call.” "~ MoM, September 25, 2002

Scripture Reading, Luke 2: 41-50

Each year his parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover, and when he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom. After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it.

Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him.

After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers.

When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him: "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety."

And he said to them: "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know I must be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he said to them.
