I am Prakash.P, hailing from Pondicherry in India. Born to Padma Ramanathan and Pichumani Ramachandran on the 24th day of October 1979, i grew up to my fifth year in Madurai under the watchful eyes of my grandparents.....it was all very easy then for me. 1st rank inclass and excellent academic performance. Easily the pet for any body who comes across me. All along these five years i had also learnt some mantras from my grandad which were a must there in Madurai for my granparents, as well my uncle and aunts were and infact are still a bit orthodox. The memories of BALAGURUKULAM ,my friend RAJA and my teacher RUKMANI are still fresh in my memmory.
Then came the first change in my life.....my shifting to Pondicherry to stay and grow along with my brothers and parents here. Here in Pondicherry it was all but a bed of thorns for i was put to DONBOSCO school near my house where it was a lot more tougher than i had learnt till then.....not sure if it was the course itself or whether it was something to do with environmental change.....gone were the days of first rank and excellent academic performance .... i stood 10-15th in a class of 40 while my brothers were still there in the top.
This combined with my talkativeness easily put me in the bad books of my parents.Soon my mother(though step mother...i call her this way and she has been the guide for me in almost all difficult times early in my life, still i started understanding the nuances of life.....) was assigned to care of me specially.....soon i found myself more in touch with reality.....though better than earlier but still couldnt make upto the top.
And then came my second change in my life,......my shifting school from DONBOSCO to FATHIMA .HSS. This happened in my eighth class. Till this time, English, which was the mode of conversation in DON BOSCO found no takers here. So i found myself getting good friends and better academically.....and by 10th standard was again back in the top 3 and the 10th stanadard public exams changed all the old image i had at home ...and lo! every body started trusting me that i can easily achieve and be one of the best.......this attitude change brought along with it many a personal freedom which is very hard to get when one is in 12th standard in any house......
The most dreaded 12th result were declared and i had good enough marks to get admissions in a few engg colleges and a lone medical college ,which was Calicut Medical College through the Pondicherry Educational Department quota which was merit based.
CALICUT MEDICAL COLLEGE.......my biggest change in my life till now. Being a day scholar all thru the school days, hostel was the first big test for me ,left to myself to manange all including finances...it was a good experience ......free with no one to oversee me, it was altogether a different experience......the life here, changed me( in short) from a small ,timid, unquestioning boy to a bigger, assertive, thoughtful man. i am a doctor now with MBBS degree and in course for further progress in life.......
