we try hard to create a body of musical understanding that's as complete as possible. There has been an area of coverage that has gone sadly and starkly neglected however, and that is recognition of the great mustaches in contemporary music. In order to fill this critical and artistic void, we appointed AMG staffers Margaret Reges and Cammila Albertson to comprise the Mustache Awards Committee, which, in turn, sought to honor and venerate these 'staches on the basis of such criteria as virility, complexity, and possible collaboration with Satan. What follows are the committee members' final selections in the first and probably last AMG Mustache Awards, affectionately known as the Stachies.
