Smokin' Mallard Game Calls was founded in 2000. It was started as a joint venture between Dusty Stevens and Wade Edie in search of the perfect duck call. All the calls on the market at that time were too loud, flat toned, or just took too much air to blow. We also wanted to come up with something different- hence the beer bottle shape. Our calls are an Arkansas style call with 3 different volume levels; a timber model, and open water model, and a competition style. Our call is one of the few that can be ordered with single, double, triple, or 4 reed with minimal modification. It is also the only double reed call that takes minimal air and also can have a contest ring. Our calls have been proven in the fields of the Grand Prairie, the open water of the Arkansas River, the back water of the Ouachita and Saline Rivers, and the tall timber of the famous Bayou Meto in hot and sub freezing weather. Our calls do not freeze or lock up. Presently our calls come in a variety of colors in acrylic, burnt and plain bois d' arc (hedge or osage orange), cocobola, laminated wood with colors, and on occasion we have rare exotics available such as ebony, coconut, african zebrawood and countless others. Contact us to see what we have in stock and leadtimes on others. Calls are hand tuned by a professional with many years of calling experience and checked with a Fluke 196 Oscilloscope for frequency matching.
