| There is a place inside me where no one has ever gone. A box that's locked inside my heart A key where no one knows. Once a year I open this unknown mystery and shuffle through each memory so very carefully. First there is my childhood that was, as childhood's go I had some good and bad days as through the years I'd go I alway knew that love would always be with me From parents, sibling, other kin and friends I yet to meet. Then came along my teen years and struggles than began My body grew and soon matured and told me different things. I put away my childhood thoughts to go to better things. And then I met the perfect mate and love and marriage came. I loved him more than life itself and still do to this day. We then became the parents of a tiny baby boy Whom was indeed the world to us and with who we shared great love. Than came along our second child and then child number three and then we knew that We'd become the perfect family. But fate doesn't always let all our dreams come true We had our share of sorrows and trouble knew us too. Our boys became teenagers and discovered problems too. We all have to grow up Learn what we're meant to do. Sometimes it was very tough but we always made it through. The children are all men now with families of their own And I am sure if truth were known, I would not be surprised to find that they too have secret boxes buried deep inside. For now that I am old and gray I really don't regret the years, the tears, the problems that life has given me. I love each golden memory and hold it close to me. It's time to put my secret box down deep where it belongs and eagerly await for next years's date to call. I'll open up my secret box and joyful I will be to wander through my memories That means the world to me. By: PJ Paxton |
