Facts: The Pasco Police Athletic League (PPAL) is a nonprofit organization governed by the Pasco County (Fla) Sheriff's Office. PPAL comprises of 11 teams throughout four counties of the northern area of Tampa Bay. PPAL involves children at the ages 7-16 in football and cheerleading from August to November each year.

Historical Information: PPAL was established in 1973 by John Short, when he was the Chief of Police of the City of New Port Richey.

No Driving others to away games

Play Downs

Each players must be weighed before each game and must not exceed to any degree the scheduled weight for that week
(1 lb. increase per week)
for six weeks.

This league allows youth to participate in football sporting events that they otherwise may not be able to do in a school environment. This allows the youth to participate in a sportsmanlike manner.
