My name
20th October, 2002

Why is it so difficult to remember my name?  Its not like its anything elaborate  Sure, most of you are reading this saying, Heck, I know how to spell her name.  But the fact is, only about 4 or 5 of you (not counting family, best buds, or my boyfriend) actually do spell it right.  The rest of you spell it unbelievably wrong.  So whats this huge problem I have with people misspelling me name?  Well  Let me tell you a story.

Before I was born my mother and father had decided if they had a daughter, they would name her my name.  But my mother misspelled my name when she was to tell the nurse my name.  So Ive lived 20 years of my life with a misspelled name.

Why dont you change it?  I hear you ask  Because I like being a little bit different and unique, because lets face it  I am different and unique.  So, Ive lived 20 years knowing that my name was different from others.  And many probably still shared the same spelling as me, but the most common name was spelled differently.

So why does it bother me so much when someone misspells my name?  Because it is a part of me.  Especially when I tell a person, No, its spelled this way.  And I spell it for them  And they still manage to throw in extra letters or switch letters  Here you go.  These are the many misspellings of my name.

Should I go on or stop now?

How hard is it to remember  That this is the spelling of my name?
