Saskia Whickham Saskia is the daughter of actor parents, Jeffrey Whickham and Clair Stewart. She is a self-confessed clothes fiend and has a taste for the expensive designer makes. She went to the Central School of Speech and Drama but made her professional debut in children’s drama ‘The Villains’ at the age of eight. Other roles include, the title role in the BBC costume drama ‘Clarissa’ and a leather-clad secretary called Alex in ‘Boon’. |
Dr Erica Matthews Erica arrived at the Beeches as a locum from Manchester, following the breakdown of a long-term relationship with Dan Copeland. Dan later followed her to Cardale wanting to pick up where they left off, but Erica realised that their relationship had reached a dead end. Erica had a crush on Will Preston, but this came to nothing when he fell in love with Kate Webster. She later found herself growing closer to Andrew Attwood after he broke up with his wife, Kirsty. Although Andrew and Erica rowed, there was a definite attraction between them, but both had things happening in their personal lives that prevented them from getting together. Erica was searching for her natural parents after she was adopted as a child. She finds out that her mother has died following a car crash and now she will never meet her. However, she is able to track her father down and the pair become friends after a slightly rocky start. After a fire broke out in Erica’s cottage, she moved in with Andrew and the pair could deny their feelings no longer. Andrew surprised Erica at one of their favourite beauty spots with a proposal of marriage, but Erica turned him down, still feeling that the timing was wrong. She later proposed to him and he accepted with a kiss. Before the wedding, Erica began to have doubts about whether to go through with it. She arrived at the church to tell Andrew that she couldn’t marry him and then left Cardale for a two-week holiday, but she never returned. |
