We are a group of people living in the Monterey Bay area who have HIV or AIDS. We get together once a month for a potluck dinner, conversation, friendship and fun. It is our chance to express whatever is on our minds without the stigma of being considered �different� or out of place in any way. We are men and women alike who share many common concerns, challenges, and yes, even some joys of living with HIV/AIDS.
We celebrate our individuality and independence as well as support each other through what we all know to be the tough times of adjusting to, and living with, this disease. Some of us are newly diagnosed and some of us are long-term survivors, but we all offer our friendship and understanding from our unique, individual perspectives. We offer a friendly, confidential environment where you can be free from the fear of being �outed� or �shunned,� so you can de-stress and enjoy yourself among friends.
Although we enjoy (and appreciate) the moral support of the local HIV/AIDS medical community and service providers, we are not in any way associated with, nor financed by, them. Beyond getting together on a purely social level, we have no political, religious or sexual agenda. We simply get together to enjoy each other�s company, share mutual experiences and have some fun in an understanding, non-threatening, homey environment. We strongly support friendship, wherever it may lead, but vigorously oppose sexually predatory behavior at our social events.
If you�re suffering through the uncertainties of this disease, we know you�re not alone. We�d like to take this opportunity to invite you to leave your isolation and begin to enjoy the friendship of a group of people who truly understand what you�re going through. We won�t �out� you. We won�t �reject� you. We won�t �disrespect� you. New members need not bring anything to the potluck, other than themselves. We have lots of food and there�s always room for �one more� at the table.

The first Friday of each month, from
7 p.m. to 10 p.m., our group of HIV positive men and women get together to socialize and have fun. We meet in a large, beautiful, private community room of a secure apartment complex in Monterey.
The facility has a fully equipped kitchen for warming, or in some cases, cooking food. It also has a refrigerator and all the amenities of home.
Each participant (first timers excluded) brings a dish to share with the group. We supply the plates, glasses and eating utensils. And we all help clean-up afterward.
We have a diverse group of people who attend, and no HIV positive person is excluded.
We�d very much like to extend a warm invitation for you to join us. It�s FREE, and it�s a great way to meet new, understanding friends in a respectful, non-judgmental environment.
