| In 1998 There were 24 sets of Triplets (3), 1 set of Quadruplets (4) and 1 set of Qunituplets (5) in attendance. The "Double Take Parade" had 80 float entries and the day was beautiful and clear. There were 5 sections of "walking twins". The theme this year is "Two-Gether in Twinsburg". The cost of registration has risen to $10 per set of twins. The youngest twins to attend are 9 weeks old and the oldest set was 90 yrs old. This year, the youngest triplets were 5 weeks and 1 day! Twins attended from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, China, Germany and Seoul, Korea. PHOTOS here 2,701 sets of multiples registered. In 1999 The Festival budget is skyrocketing, this year it is $231,5000.00. In January, one twin of the oldest sets of twins in Japan has died at the age of 107. They were considered national treasures in Japan and were known internationally. The "Twinless Twins" have a place in Twinsburg history. The Double Take Parade is themed "Two Of A Kind In 99". There were 5 sections of marching multiples in the parade. There were 27 sets of triplets. No quads or quints were in attendance this year. The youngest set of twins this year were 3 weeks old and the oldest set of twins this year were 88 yrs old. The grand total of registered multiples is now at 38,065! The youngest triplets were 6 mons and 3weeks old. The oldest twins were 89 years old. Twins came from Japan, New Zealand, Sweden, Australia, Lebanon and Czecholslavakia. Spectators start lining up and down the parade route very early in the morning to get a seat in a front row to view the most spectacular sight of the TwinsDays event. The oldest set of twins were 96 yrs old! The youngest set ot twins were 2 weeks and 4 days old. Twins and other multiples came from as far away as Germany, Costa Rico, and Ottawa Canada. There was a 5K run with close to 200 runners and walkers.The grand total of registered multiples has risen to 45,923 in the last 27 years of the event. 12 sets of triplets were in attendance. Twins came from Japan, Germany, Canada, and Lebanon. A book authored by Mary Ellen Mark goes on sale in October 2003. It is titled TWINS and includes photos of many sets from past TwinsDays. 2,654 sets of multiples registered in 2003 The budget is $218,061.00 . Researchers are from University of South Dakota, National Institute of Deafness & Other communicative Diseases.,University Hospitals/department of dermatology, Burke Pharmeceutical Research, University of Pennsylvannia, USCD Dept. of Orthopedics,Cornell University, and the US SECRET SERVICE! A Carnival 7-Day Caribbean Cruise for twins is being planned for 2005. The Nagel twins, Jeff & Steve are hard at work to make a fun time of TWIN-SATIONAL cruising! The ship, Victory leaves Miami on Jan. 16th, 2005. PHOTOS here . 8 sets of triplets registered. Grand total of multiples registered in the last 28 years is 48,679 ! Twins from around the world, from South Africa, Russia, Guatemala and Canada. 2,756 sets of multiples registered. In 2004****** Becci & Bobbie (the PowersTwins) are chosen as the Queens of 2004. This experience totally outweighs every 16 years previous we attended TwinsDays. There were almost 2,900 twins in attendance, but only count of registerd multiples 2,054. The committee rented a 1960's renovated 4 double seated roller coaster for the Royal Court to ride in front of the parade. The coaster was from Euclid Amusment Park in Euclid Ohio. Twins came from Ghana, Germany, Belgium, and India among many other countries. PHOTOS |
