My Bird |

Maggie is my only flying housemate. I thought about getting another bird, maybe some finches, but Maggie is very demanding of my time and attention and simply wouldn't allow it if I did. Talk about jealous. Wouldn't have it any other way!!! (Although I do get concerned when she chases the cats across the floor when they get too close to me when she is out - which is most of the time) |

Maggie is a Goffin's Cockatoo
(the smallest of the species)
I got her at 5.5 yrs in 2002
As of April 2007 we have been together 5 years.
She doesn't yet have a large vocabulary, but we're working on it. When I got her she said:
"Hello" and "Hi"
"Hello, Maggie"
"Hi, Doggie"
and barked.
She has learned from me:
"What are you doing, Maggie"
"Wha's Up?" and raises her right foot in a high-five
She now screams,,,, "VIKKI" when I'm in the other room or outside
we're working on :
"What are you doing , Mama"
"I love you, Mama"
She calls my cats "Doggie" |
