BIOGRAPHY Natives of Mexico, on January of 1999 was born a new band on the stage, the fresh blood is running throught the vains of rock. Directly of Satelite City four guys take the decision of getting together and do what they most like: PURE ROCK. 1993 is the year when Mr.P (vocals) and Micro (drums) that played with "YAAZKAL" on that time , met the Melendez Brothers, Rubik (Bass) and Maiky (guitar) that played in a band named "LA CARABINA DE AMBROSIO", after sharing the stage plenty of times they decided to form together a new band that shows the musical chemistry that they have on the stage. After one year together, a new drumer joins the band with a powerful punch, Beto was the final piece of the puzzle. Based on a cartoon of the middle of the 80's named "TRANSFORMERS" , they take the name of the AUTOBOT leader that was a huge red trailer named: OPTIMUS PRIME Hip-Hop, Funk, Power Metal, and Retro music are just some of the genders that OPTIMUS PRIME shows on their music influenced by several bands, they finally created their own sound, named "POWER - ANTIESTETICO". Their lyrics are sarcastic, but with a lot of humor and many songs are like different stories that they have lived in their lives, like "ANTIESTETICOS" that talks about all their friends when they party , or the song "QUE!!?" that talks about people that get hysteric or scared and change their voice tone. OPTIMUS PRIME is included in two upcoming compilations: "SIN ALTERNATIVA 3" with the best alternative bands of Mexico , and the Vol.2 "TRIBUTO A CAIFANES", a tribute to a legendary Mexican rock band named "CAIFANES". They have played in very important places such as "The Sport Palace" in Mexico cit, a place for more than 20,000 people, also in all the clubs of the city and now they are planning their tour throught UNITED STATES and part of CANADA. With their first EP recorded indepently , their music have reached places as CANADA , and they also have proposals from people in BRAZIL and EUROPE thet they are interested in OPTIMUS PRIME. Now they are preparing what will be their first CD, that will be able in the 2001. |
