Pistols, Shotguns, Swords, Grenade guns, Needle guns & Nightmare Betas everywhere! Devil May Cry is based in the Devil World when the devil tries to take over the over world!

When you first play the game you look into the loading screen and see blood, guts, gore & guns, and that's exactly what you will get in the first game of what should be a great series if they carry on with the games!

When the first level comes on you will be very unfamiliar with the controls and workings of the character and what they are capable of, the best thing to do would be to take about half an hour to mess about with various controls and things to see what you come up with, this could help you decide whether you want to continue playing the game, or turn to your crappy game boy emulator which you paid a tenner for at the local car boot. My advice to you is give Devil May Cry a chance to show its true colours, then you'll be hooked for hours on end.

There are 2 main characters in Devil May Cry. These being Dante, the main character who has the whole of humanity put in his hands and he has to save it & Trish, Dantes mysterious sister who he hasn't seen sine his parents & brother were taken over by the underworld 20 tears ago. There are many bosses in the game too who are main characters but there are too many of them to mention!

There are levels in the game where you only have a matter of minutes, this makes it extremely hard if you don't know where to go! There are also levels where Secret Missions are enabled where you can get extra orba & a bonus at the end of the level! You also get a bonus if you do well against a boss!

May I warn you that some of the levels get much more difficult as you progress through the game, some get a lot easier! The first few levels are not too easy. If you're new to the game, but try using the cheats and start about 6 levels into the game, you wont know where to begin. The level aims change from things like get the Alastor Sword, to saving Trish from Mundus. This all adds to the darkness vibe that the game emits.

We rate this game an overall 9/10, as there are certain features that the game lacks, such as multiplayer mode and other features during gameplay.

Even though the game wasn't a 10 out of 10, I still urge all you PS2 gamers & bloodthirsty people out there, to go and get yourselves a copy of this game, as its extremely exciting.
