| Color Guard! It is the one athletic activity that is simultaneously a martial art, a study in music, dance, physics, theatre, geometry, community AND competitive sports. But more than anything else, color guard is an artform--one that demands self-expression and audience engagement, while adequately conveying a mood or a theme. Some artists can change your mood or your mind. They may cheer you up, shock you or inspire you, make you cry or make you wet your pants laughing. True artists can do this because they have a creative edge in the interpretation of ideas. Power Drill, the creation of true artists, is color guard like you've never experienced before with the emphasis on the artform rather than the score. Each week Power Drill features the best in local high-school color guard, dance or drill team talent competing, rehearsing or just goofing off as well as other dancers and performance artists from across the South Texas area, not to mention weekly fitness and flag/rifle technique segments led by host and 20 year CG veteran, Oscar "Scar" Natal. Don't miss a single episode of Power Drill, every Friday night at 10:30PM in San Antonio on Time Warner Cable, Public Access Channel 20. |

| American Idol America's top-rated TV show may have it's evil clutches on me but not for the reasons most people watch this crap. While I do think that people enjoy watching other people sing, I think people also enjoy watching other people fail, or at least, do worse than they feel they could do themselves. Television Without Pity is a hilarious site that pretty much echoes my feelings about AI and doesn't mince words! Comedia A Go Go This show won the San Antonio Current's most recent reader's poll award for Best Public Access Show. Considering the competition consists mainly of religious weirdos and a few other delusional "entertainers" it ain't saying much but once in a while something will go wrong and they're actually funny. The Lounge Show Bring your crackers, honey because this is the cheeziest half hour anywhere on San Antonio TV! One-man "show" Carlos Taboada shakes his maracas, beats his bongos and slurps pink lemonade out of a martini glass while forcing non-lounge songs to conform to this tired genre. I guess not everyone got the memo that the lounge thing died 6 years ago. Or the one about NOT eating the olive. UGH! Must be seen to be believed. Hey, Carlos--Speed Racer called, he wants his glasses back! River City Wrestling What would South Texas be without professional wrestling? Watch these local thugs, rednecks, studs and duds duke it out weekly in venues all over SA. |
