San Antonio Postal Workers'
File Women's Class Action Suit
An Injury to One is An Injury to All
Class Action Agent:
Alice Neufeld
Post Office Box 34046
San Antonio Texas 78265-4046
Certification
to file a nationwide class action lawsuit was received by the EEOC
July 2000 for devastating RETALIATION committed to all
employees of the US Postal Service who launched a civil rights
complaint (EEO). Both
men and women have their struggle with abuse, mistreatment and
discrimination. This class action was first sought for men and women, but EEOC
decided we were not permitted to pursue the action in that manner, and we
regret that it is now limited to women only.
WHO MAY JOIN IN THIS ACTION?
Women from any state who opposed discrimination in their workplace
and
received retaliation with adverse actions by the US Postal
Service causing their person harm.
WHAT IF I HAVE ALREADY FILED AN EEO?
Those who filed an EEO may still pursue their process, but
may also be included in this class action so long as they have
not already filed the complaint, sought, and received remedy and
settlement. Be sure to indicate if you are in
the Civil Rights process presently.
I DIDN'T FILE AN EEO, BUT I RECEIVED RETALIATION FOR OPPOSING
DISCRIMINATION
Whenever one opposes discrimination one is engaging in a
PROTECTED ACTIVITY that is covered under the
Civil Rights Act, Title VII. You do not have to have had
filed an EEO complaint, but simply opposed discrimination
in your workplace verbally, through a picket, protest, or
article to a newspaper.
CONGRESS, PRESIDENT, SENATOR:
If through Congresss, President, or Senator you sought help
or wrote a letter of protest of discrimination
AND received RETALIATION this too is
considered a protected EEO activity.
WHAT CRAFTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLASS ACTION?
Nationwide all different crafts may sign up.
SEX HARASSMENT
After complaining of sex harassment in the workplace, and
non-enforcement of US Postal Service's Zero Tolerance Policies,
and Joint Statement of Violence of 1992,
retaliation is given to workers as a nationwide practice.
WHAT ABOUT INJURED WORKERS?
Injured workers may join in on the nationwide class action.
Those especially invited are those who have wrongfully accused
and set up with "criminal" OWCP fraud as a retaliatory action for
your opposition to discrimination.
WHO IS THE CLASS ACTION AGENT?
