Court Appointed Attorney
When you file a civil suit if you qualify you may ask for a court
appointed attorney. At the EEO level it is recommended that you seek
consultations with someone knowledgeable, and not spend
large monies on an attorney. A civil suit is filed when you
receive your "right to sue letter" (final/partial agency decision).
You may seek an attorney outside your state since this
is a federal court case. Check with Joseph Kaplan who
does represent out of state cases from Washington DC.
Your Partial/Final Decision is Your Right-to-Sue Letter
It should be issued 180 days from the date of your
Request for Formal Investigation. You may go straight to US
District Court at your local federal building; file a
civil suit even if you have NOT received your partial/final
decision. Check into a court appointed attorney.
Disclaimer: Consult
with a knowledgeable attorney for your legal rights.
The way to save expense is to first speak to
a knowledgeable attorney and not one who will incur expenses
only to find out he/she doesn't understand the Administrative
process in the federal sector or is bullied out by their share of postal
abuse and retaliation.
Type of Attorney
Administrative, Employment Law or Civil Rights.
