... " it's just evolution! " ...

Big or small; black or white - there's one thing people across the world will always share. Be it a professional sport or merely a day-to-day job in an office, the desire to succeed and the wish to be better than those you stand opposite to will always, always play a part in every day living. After all, it's human nature. Nobody wishes to waltz in second best. Nobody - child or adult - wants to be seen at the back of the pack.

Think about it. Ever since you were born, you adopted a competitive spirit in a particular interest. Perhaps it was the school's Football team. Maybe being the top of the class student in English. What ever it may of been, everyone's had a want to achieve far better than their friends or foes. But. There's always a catch.

There's always two ways about it, because so many have determination, yet so few reach, what we call, "the top of the mountain". Why? Why is it some define themselves as Champions, as Icons, when others are left high and dry without a single drop of success. These days, you can't have ability and not a damn thing else. Vice versa; you can't expect determination and mental strength to carry you over the line in the sand. Not gonna happen. You've gotta have it all; you've gotta be able to step up to the plate and grab ahold of any little opportunity that swings your way. Whether that chance, that once in a lifetime career defining moment is taken or not, that's the difference. The difference between champion status and potential.

At the end of the day, you can have ALL the potential in the world. You can have potential coming outta your ass, but if you haven't taken full advantage of an opportunity when it was presented, you might as well kiss your hopes and dreams goodbye.

Carlito. Caribbean. Cool.

My god! Carlito Cool is the NEW United States Champion!

Footage of Carlito Cool; a mere kid, a dead set rookie, taking down John Cena to pick up the United States Championship Belt in his first match. Carlito celebrates, in complete satisfaction of his achievements.

Suddenly; the screen fades to black. Seconds tick by, yet nothing evaluates. Softly but surely, footsteps can be identified. The screen translates into somewhat of a white "mist", where from a distance we're able to make out the figure belonging to a familiar face. Black, polished shoes. Nice, clean silky black trousers. A stylish maroon shirt. It's none other, than Randy Orton whom by now displays his trademark grin. His hands stay firmly rested in his pockets with his head held high showcasing what you'd pin point to be a hint of arrogance.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : ..And so with a flicker of lights, a new wrestling promotion begins. A new era is born. But there's one thing that never fails to change, and that's the faces. Take a look around, what's new? A few new backstage workers? One or two new jobbers? Big deal. This business repeats itself over, and over, and over again. Heh' ... and just like before, JUST like in World Wrestling Entertainment, Randy Orton .. is gonna lead by example. Randy Orton isn't gonna step aside and make way for Triple H. No. This time around, whether Hunter likes it or not .. I'm MAKING him play second fiddle. An' ya know why?

Randy smirks.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : Because I can. Because I'm NOT Hunters toy. See, as time evolves ... So too, does the Randy orton legacy. As every minute tick tocks away on the clock, my greatness un-folds into the perfect shape. I've SERVED my apprenticeship by staying under the wing of Triple H for 2 years. I LEARNT the ropes and I used Hunter as a step to spotlight. And now? Heh. Now comes procedure. Now, in AWA - I take over. I surpass the teacher and I fufill .. my destiny!

The smirk that Randy had before is now long gone, as his eyes are deadly focused upon the camera. No emotion escapes whatsoever; just an un-deniable concentrated expression.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : Trips', take a good look. Take a real, good look. I'm in the BEST possible shape an athlete can be in. I'm entering the peak of my career. While I'm inches away from reaching the top of the professional wrestling mountain, you - on the other hand - you're about to fall on your ass and slide all the way down to the bottom. I'm gon'a knock you off your pirch Aitch, and to coin a phrase for old times sake .. it's just evolution!

Orton's grin is plastered from ear to ear once again. He's good, and to be frank; he knows it.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : You've said it yourself pops. You've run down Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels; you TOOK the torch from 'em and you ran with it. Thing is, big guy - time's running out for you now. You've won your Championship belts, heck - you've got a place in the history books. But as far as the future's concerned, you're NOT gon'a be the guy leading this industry into it. Evolution's somethin' you ain't gonna stop Game. I'm takin' that torch .. and I'm takin that Worlds Heavyweight Championship belt this Wednesday Night.

Randy adjusts his shirt, which you can clearly notice, is perfectly tucked into his trousers.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : Allow me to take a few backward steps. 'Cause don't think, Carlito, for a single second that I've forgotten about you.

He pauses.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : Far as I'm concerned, you're playing ball in the wrong court and you've got your fishing rod in the wrong pond. Allow me to simplify the terms, kido; I'm elite. I'm a third generation Superstar. Needless to say, I am the YOUNGEST Worlds Heavyweight Champion this industry has ever laid eyes upon. I've established myself as a cut above the rest. What have you managed to come up with, pal? Two titles? There's a gap. A big gap. On one side, you've got greatness. You've got The Legend Killer. You've got RANDY .. ORTON. And on the other side, you've got ... a puerto rican.

Orton snarls and folds his arms.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : Let me make it perfectly clear to you, pal. I'm not here to dilly dally. I'm not here to play you Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca" and I'm certainly not here to watch you walk on by and take away MY belt! It belongs in THESE hands, Carlito. NOT yours. NOT Triple H's. MINE! What makes you THINK that you're even the slightest of chances? Let me remind you, pal; this ain't the jackpot where you've gotta be in it to win it. This ain't "luck of the draw". This. is professional. wrestling. And from what I've seen, you're havin' trouble holdin' up Funakis jock strap! (Randy Pauses) I'm not just a prospect, Carlito. I'm THE-E prospect. THE-E future. And it all starts with you this Wednesday Night. That Worlds Championship; I'm NOT waiting any longer. I crave the taste of it, Carlito. I CRAVE the touch, the weight, the PRESTIGE of Champion. I want it back. I want it all back. Every little bit of fame, every little bit of spotlight - I WANT IT! There is NO reason, no earthly way in hell am I going to be casted amongst the shadows. I'm steppin' up the game, pal; think you're gon'a be able to keep up? Think again. This is MY time. It's MY future. MY glory! So as for you, Carlito, do yourself a favour; pretty up a bit, you know? Perhaps a haircut? Maybe a touch of make-up? Do something to pretty yourself up 'cause when you're laying in the middle of the ring senseless, the least you can do .. is look presentable. Haha! You want somethin' to chew on, pal? Chew on this;

R - K - O !

Randy nods his head, agreeing with himself completely. An "honest" assessment would be to label Randy as one to be quite proud of himself.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : I pity you. I pity the fact that your head is so clouded by that god damn hair that you can't even realize reality. I was BORN to be great. I was BORN to make people like you look incompetent. And guess what, pal? That's exactly what I'm gon'a do.

Again, Randy Orton flashes an arrogant grin.

" THE PROSPECT " Randy Orton : Be seein' ya.

Fade to black.
