BEATEN FROM PILLAR TO POST

Frankie Kazarian , Shawn Michaels , The Rock , Bret Hart?

Promo Number: 09      Next Match: vs. Bret Hart - Singles Match

Raw Attitude didn't up shaping as a night that Shane Douglas will always remember for the right reasons. He was expected to walk out with a victory. After downing Shawn Michaels and The Rock in previous weeks, it seemed almost inevitable that Christian was the next to succumb to The Franchiser. But it didn't happen. Shane was oblivious to Christian's foot on the ropes, therefore, he raised his arms up in the air in what he thought was another victory. Christian took full advantage, swung him around, and nailed the Un-Prettier. In three short seconds; it was over. Signed, sealed and delivered. Christian walked out with an un-expected victory and left Shane Douglas in mis-belief, and to ponder what might have been. This week, Raw Attitude comes to you from Alabama where Douglas is set to face off aginst Bret 'The Hitman' Hart. It's no secret that Hart's legacy is one most cheerish, and one that most would dream to have. However - Douglas' incentive differs, for his admiration is not set on Bret Hart. But instead - himself. For years, Bret Hart has stood atop the professional wrestling mountain. Steve Austin, Scott Steiner, Hulk Hogan, Sting - some of the biggest names that can spring to your mind have all failed to put the Hitman to sleep. September 5th, It's Shane Douglas' chance. Can he end the career of one of the best there ever has been and will be? Or will Douglas drop consecutive matches? Time will only tell.

-[[ The All Pro Wrestling logo fades into the bottom left corner as the cameras pick up the scene inside of the Kemper Arena in Kansas City. For those of you still left dumbfounded - it's where Owen Hart's tremendous tragedy occurred. It appears as though an event - quite possibly, a House Show, has only recently ended within the last few hours. The seats and such are still set up as they were when there were probably thousands upon thousands of lunatic fanatics. Regardless; there's nobody around at this current time besides Shane Douglas, who is standing directly in the center of the ring with his arms folded. He glances from left to right, from right to left. Douglas rubs his chin; an expression plastered across his face that we've yet to witness thus far in his apw career. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " Accidents. Every day of the year - an accident occurs. On May 23, 1999 in front of 16,000 screaming wrestling fans, Owen Hart plunged 78 feet to his death. It was in this very select arena, that The Blue Blazer became .. no more. "

-[[ Not a sound heard, not a single movement made. I allow those few short seconds to tick by before continuing. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " I sympathize with every drop of tear. Really, I do. Owen Hart was a man that'll always be held close to our hearts. He represented this company wonderfully. Owen Hart .. is a role model. The fact that his life was taken from him is heartbreaking, for not simply because he was a great man - but because the way in which he conducted himself in the squared circle was first rate. Owen was a superstar; he was one of the best. Rest in peace. "

-[[ No, you're not dreaming. You heard right. Surprised? You should be. It's not every day a man gets compliments from The Franchise, so you should take this moment and saviour it. But wait - I haven't finished. Oh no, not at all. It's only just begun. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " Had you there, didn't I? "

-[[ I flash an arrogant grin to the camera. I bet there were some gasps after that one, haha. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " Did you honestly think that I would lie to you people? Do you really, really think that I'd pretend to make some dead guy a glorified superstar? Why should I feel sympathy? What - because he died tryin' to be a fucking hero? Screw that. Owen Hart died because he was trying to ENTERTAIN. Me? I don't give a flying SHIT about entertaining. I care about gettin' the job done on the night. Nothin' more. It ain't a popularity contest, it's professional wrestling. "

-[[ That's the problem with this business. You've got idiots wantin' to entertain - that's why professional wrestling is in the state that it's in. No doubt about it; I'm the saviour, regardless to whether the public admits to it or not. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " The truth of it all is that Owen Hart was never gonna be a contender for the big strap. Never. Owen was destined for mid-card, because that's all he was. Dime a dozen. That's somethin' all you sooks have gotta' realize. He was never a wrestling god. He was never a threat to anyone who ever meant a shit in the business. He was fillin' up time 'till guys like me Main Evented. That was his job .. and Owen, pal .. if ya' lookin' down on me .. then remember one thing, ya' son of a bitch; you're a NUGGET! "

-[[ I burst out with laughter because let's face it, that was comedic. One thing's for sure - I've definitely got a few more haters after this one's said and done. Fuck it though. The fans mean nothin'. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " As much as Owen Hart might've been admired by all you idiots, he was always playing second fiddle to his brother. To 'The Hitman'. That didn't bother ya' though, did it Bret? It didn't bother you one single bit knowing you were leaps and bounds ahead of owen. All that ever mattered was you. After all - YOU were the King of all the Harts, right? But ya' know somethin' Bret - I ain't gonna turn this into a bashing of your arrogance. Because to be perfectly honest, if I was in your shoes, I'd have done the exact same thing. (Smirks) There's one thing I've grown to hate about you Bret. It's not that you've fallen in love with the colour pink, either. It's that each return you make to professional wrestling is based upon your emotion. This time, you've claimed that hearing Owen's name on several occassions has given you a feeling to give one last run. I'll lay it out to ya' straight, right now; be prepared to be drowned in the disappointment of your lost brother .. for it's a return that shall not be coated with a fairy-tale ending .. but instead .. a heart stopping tragedy. Think about it; do you know what it'll do to me if I retire your ass two weeks into your journey of pleasing Owen? Ha-ha. I'll be sky rocketed to fucking Mars. "

-[[ Once again, I smirk arrogantly and clear my throat. Moments pass by, and by that time, I'm leaning over the ropes and staring directly into the camera. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " Don't get me wrong, there was once a time I respected you. But not anymore. All the respect I did have, you pissed down the toilet because you've never known when to call it quits. Your body can't keep up with the rest of the pack, Bret. Your legacy lives on, but it no longer increases. If anything - you're merely tarnishing all that you've ever achieved. And for what? Owen? Your family? Honestly. You of ALL people Bret should know that when you ain't in the business for yourself, then you shouldn't be in it at all. "

-[[ Silence. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " Last week, I took the foot off the pedal and I paid the price. I made a mistake. A rare mistake, but ya' know Bret - some mistakes can be unforgiven. If I franchise your ass this Monday Night - I get my redemption, and the slip up against Christian can be easily forgotten. That's the way this business works, and that's the way I operate because I NEVER .. Mark my words, Hart; NEVER double fault. Since I've stepped into APW, I've been takin' numbers and I've been raisin' eyebrows all over the continent. At Raw Attitude - I'm gonna do MORE than that. Once and for all, I'm gonna do what should've been done years ago - put you outta' the business .. for good. "

-[[ Another brief moment of silence passes by. What's the odds I'm gonna have death threats by the time this whole thing is over and done with? ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " Bret, you know what you remind me of? An old, sad run down dog. And ya' know what you DO to an old, sad run down dog Bret? You put him DOWN .. you put him OUT of his misery .. and on Monday Night – on Raw Attitude - that's just what I'm gonna do. (Pauses) From 1994 to 1999, you may of BEEN The Hitman. You may of BEEN one of the best there ever was .. but reality check, pal; your number got called up years ago. Ever since, you've been laggin' behind tryin' to be what you ONCE were. Take the hint, Bret - you ain't nothin' but a washed up piece of trash .. and on Monday Night .. I'm gonna make sure that you never .. EVER make another one of your little fairy-tale returns. Mark my words; one way or another, I'm walkin' outta' Alabama as the man that put the FINAL nail in the HART legacy! Ha-ha-ha ... Hitman .. GET YOUR ASS READY .. 'CAUSE YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE "

FRRRAAANNNCHISED!

-[[ Leaning voer the ropes, I point directly at the camera - which at the same time, zooms in. ]]-

" THE FRANCHISE " Shane Douglas: " Hitman .. you've become the HUNTED!! "

-[[ And with that, the scene fades to black leaving us only a matter of a few short days away from Raw Attitude. Douglas, Hart - Don't miss it! ]]-
