They loved you so much when they got you that day Yet off we go with my heart on my sleeve dragging you to a cage as your owners leave Here you'll sit in a cold damp cage Hoping someone will overlook your age Instead of a puppy, they might choose you But they're gonna wonder why someone left you . Yup they'll blame you for the fickle nature of a human being . No comforts here as your days begin Just long lonely hours to wonder again ? "why did they leave me here alone?""and why did they say they didn't know my name?" "is this just a new kind of game?" "cause I don't want to play." I hear them talking they call me a stray...... Say the people said it cause they didn't want to pay ...... Pay for what I wonder as I wait ...... Now your days are up and no one came . So it's off again to end the pain, Of being dumped ,abandoned and denied Even though everyone here knows they lied .... From the look in your brown eyes they could never deny ... You were the one they loved so much . Your in a cage and it's gassy now, your choking , your coughing ,,,,,your dying now. No longer a stray , your a number now . You paid the price of being just another unwanted pet . BUT THEY LOVED YOU SO MUCH WHEN THEY TOOK YOU THAT DAY . |

| Do not fault the people who work in Animal Controls , Dog Pound or Humane Societies, for having to put to sleep un-wanted pets . They did not bring the pet in "John Q Public" did. And "John Q Public" are the ones who didn't spay or neuter their pet and added to the already over burden pet population problem. Save a life. SPAY and NEUTER YOUR PET. |
