Epilogue

Will and Elizabeth sat in bed that night, snuggled up close. Will was stroking Elizabeth's hair.
"What a night" Will exclaimed. "I feel like I've failed or something".
"Why? Will, you saved Maria's life. You didn't fail" Elizabeth told him.
"But I didn't save her baby" Will protested.
"Will, you saved Maria's life, that's the important thing" Elizabeth reassured him. Elizabeth pressed a kiss on Will's cheek. "I love you, honey".
"I love you too" Will husked , drawing her close. He bent his head and swept her into a deep kiss. Will got lost in the moment, the guilt evaporating in Elizabeth's love and warmth.
Amy walked up the path towards the front door after Lila and Bruce dropped her off home. Amy expected to come home to an empty house but instead she saw Ken sitting on the couch with their fireplace going.
"Ames, I was wondering when you'd get home" Ken said, quietly. Amy locked gaze with Ken and her anger melted at the sight of him. Amy went into his arms, hugging tightly. Ken pressed a kiss on her forehead.
"So, is Maria okay?" Amy asked, looking up into her husband's eyes.
"Yes, she's fine, she lost the baby, but she's okay" Ken said, hoarsely. He held Amy closer, thankful to have her with him. Forever. Ken bent his head and kissed her passionately, full of the love he felt for her.
Josh and Cherie laid in bed, watching T.V. Cherie moved closer to her husband, resting her head on his muscular chest. She listened to his heartbeat faster.
"Did you have a good time tonight?" Josh asked, playing with a strand of her hair. Cherie thought back to the evening. For half of it, she was dancing in Josh's arms and after Maria left in the ambulance, she couldn't find Josh anywhere. The next minute she was talking to Aaron Dallas and then she kissed him. Guilt overwhelmed her.
Cherie looked up at him, the confession on the tip of her tongue. Then she changed her mind.
"I had a great time" Cherie said with a smile. Josh kissed her lingeringly. The words Cherie was going to say next lost. Cherie held him tighter against her, trying to erase Aaron's kiss, the feeling of his lips against hers. Cherie loved Josh, she didn't want to lose him. If Josh ever found out, Cherie was scared of the consequences. Josh would leave her for sure. Cherie wasn't going to let that happen. Even if that meant, keeping the secret forever.
