EDWARD  A.  SAUER

    The football background in the Edward A. Sauer
family spans a half-century and is still going strong.
Eddie, who ranged between 280 and 310 pounds
while playing tackle for the Maroons in the mid-
1920's launched his career with Steel H.S., Dayton,
Ohio., from 1916 to 1919.  He climaxed his
collegiate as team captain.
     Sauer, later became general manager and trustee
of the J.W. Edward Sauer Insurance Co., and also
had a fling at college coaching at Miami University.
