    In three of the four following plays Latone lugged the ball and was responsible for first down on the 32
yard mark.  Wentz knifed off tackle for 4 yards and Latone split the line for 5 more and a second later made
first down on the 21-yard line.
     It was Latone's fifth consecutive first down and the last one of the attack.  Notre Dame stiffened and
although Wentz gained 4 yards, Latone was held without gain and Ernst lost a yard at tackle.

     Then Berry retreated and with Ernst holding the ball, place-kicked for the three points which gave the
Maroons the game.
     The statistics show that Pottsville was entitled to the triumph.  The Maroons were sluggish in their first
half attack and gained only 28 yards from rushing, but with Latone in the game in the last two quarters, they
advanced the ball from scrimmage 159 yards, giving them 187 yards for the game.
     The Horsemen, on the other hand, make only 50 yards on the ground  Pottsville also registered fourteen
first downs to seven for the Notre Dame graduates.

                                                      LATONE GAINS OUTSTANDING

     Figures show that line-shattering Latone was more than 75% of the Maroon offense.  Including his touch-
down, which was the result of a forward pass, he gained 139 yards.
     The Horsemen, excelled Pottsville 2 to 1 in passing, their overhead thrusts netted 102 yards to forty-five
for the up-state eleven.  Stuhldreher and his teammates attempted twenty-one forwards, six of which were
completed, two were intercepted and the rest grounded.
     Pottsville tried fourteen forwards, completed five.  Two fell into Horsemen's arms and seven hit the turf.
     The Maroons earned their triumph and are resting today with the fruits of victory and the dregs of defeat
while in their stead the Frankfort Yellowjackets are playing the Steam Rollers at Providence in a league game.
