| Age: 23 Gender: Female Date of Birth: October 31, 1977 Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Dark Green Height: 6'0" Defining Physical Characteristics: Extremely tall and thin, a highly feminine form of Severus Snape. She has a scar on her left upper arm that appears to be a small black skull. Liscenia's History: Liscenia Nunquam Snape (her middle name in the tradition of the scholars of her family) was born in Leeds, England to Sorrell and Severus Snape. Both were dark mages at the time of her birth. The moment Liscenia was born, she was branded with the "dark mark" on her left upper arm that Lord Voldemort uses to recall his servants when he needs them. In Liscenia's infancy, her mother saw how cruel it was to veritably brand a newborn child with the dark mark and did some soul searching; she inevitable found |
| that the dark arts were truly evil and unworthy of following. In an attempt to break away from the followers of Lord Voldemort, she was killed by the Avada Kadavra spell (a spell that results in instant death) issued by an unknown follower. Severus continued to follow the whims of Lord Voldemort until Liscenia was 11 years old and ready to enter Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Lord Voldemort had been "defeated" by Severus' ex-nemeses: Lily and James Potter, and especially - Harry Potter, the boy who withstood Avada Kadavra. Severus looked at his life, his child, and now his lack of a future - the futility of serving a weak Lord Voldemort and the corruption of the dark arts. He denounced the dark arts and Lord Voldemort; he then sought employment with his ex-professor, now Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. He became the Potions master and took Liscenia with him to begin her first year at Hogwarts. Liscenia's childhood was rather uneventful. Her father was not mindful of the under-age wizardry law (until she began attending Hogwarts), thus he allowed her to conduct magic at her whims. She did not spend time with muggle children ever; instead, she would sometimes use floo powder and visit the houses of other dark mages and their children. Though she was raised in the tradition of the dark arts, she learned other more useful spells not associated with evil and spent a lot of her time reading and practicing at home. Through her readings, she came to know that the dark arts were evil. Longing to stray, when her father was not there to supervise her, she would leave their small house and wander outside to watch the city conduct its business, though she would never talk to anyone. She was lonely and without a positive role model until the "defeat" of Lord Voldemort and her arrival at Hogwarts. She was sorted into the Gryffindor house, much to the fury of her father and the surprise of the adjoining professors. Once in classes, she flourished and began to become more social and outgoing. In her third year, she joined the Gryffindor Quidditch Team and became their first ever female keeper. In her fifth year, she became a prefect. Though she never became head-girl, she was respected and revered as an intellectual. After graduating from Hogwarts, she traveled the world. Her most favorite destination was Egypt where she learned the art of Runes and of Potions making in a different setting than she ever did learn at her home in Leeds or at Hogwarts. She spent a couple years in Egypt studying to work for Gringotts bank until she received an owl notice from her father about the absence of Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers. She then returned to Hogwarts and took the place of her father as Potions mistress while her father tended to the Defense Against the Dark Arts position, the position he had been desiring ever since he arrived at Hogwarts to teach those many years ago. |
